· The primary focus of this position is to procure lumber products for the overall operation based on demand and other forecasting indicators, such as market reports, industry insight, and internal usages. Position is located in Remington, IN.
The buyer will be expected to manage and analyze data files to make purchases for material.
Update lumber sheets and analyze needs on a daily basis
Manage the PO process from placement to delivery and assist with clearing back-end discrepancies that arise within receiving and Accounts Payable.
Help maintain accurate inventory in the Remington yard as well as offsite locations, troubleshoot and correct discrepancies.

Coordinate weekly touchpoints with various departments.
Yard employees- maintain the integrity of our data files and inventory.
PM’s- any issues Job related.
Accounts Payable- and open invoicing issues.
Track and analyze market activity through various outside resources and formulate plans for the organization based on those indications.
Weekly calls with key suppliers/traders
Review of the CME
Article review
Provide market feedback to the Purchasing Manager on a weekly basis (5:15).
Travel to key suppliers to manage the relationships.
Host meetings on a regular basis (Teams or in-person)
Continuous updating of the system for owned spend (~$12M).
Pricing, lead time, vendor maintenance, etc.
Control the spend/products of additional suppliers/commodities outside of lumber.

Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent.
1 year of experience in procurement and use of an ERP system.
Proficient in Microsoft Office, Adobe, and utilization of ERP System.
Strong ability to build relationships, think strategically, and work systematically.
Must be able to meet deadlines in a fast paced and quickly changing environment.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Excellent interpersonal, negotiation, and conflict resolution skills.
Excellent organizations skills and attention to detail.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Ability to prioritize tasks.
