Food Solutions International - Assistant Production Manager

POSITION DESCRIPTION 

POSITION SUMMARY: 

Reporting to the FSI Operations manager  this position is primarily responsible for overseeing the day to day functions of the production floor, ensuring efficiency, safety and compliance standards are met. 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: 

Primary function is to:

1. Oversee daily production, ensuring accurate preparation, consistent quality and compliance standards are kept 

2. Responsible for plant pre operation AM and post operation checks 

3. Determine the daily and weekly production schedule in advance, communicating with all departments for production efficiency

4. Conducts weekly inventory and places orders with vendors as needed 

5. Complete BOH processes such as ensuring production quantities are logged accurately in the system, timekeeping and end of day processes, scheduling, managing label and more as deemed necessary

6. Is able to train new team members, cross train and develop team member performance and capabilities 

7. Monitors team member performance. Has the authority to make suggestions regarding disciplinary actions 

QUALIFICATIONS: 

Scheduling: 

● Must be available to start work as early as 5am and stay until work is complete. Typical schedule is Monday-Friday but must be available on weekends and holidays as needed 

● No less than 45 hours per week. 

Physical Ability: 

• Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds, 

• Standing for extended periods

Mental Ability: 

• Good decision-making skills (uses independent judgment) 

• Teaching / Coaching skills (able to provide guidance, support, and nurturing) 

• Planning / Organizational skills 

• Evaluation skills 

Pre-Employment Requirements: 

• Must pass pre-employment physical, TB or Mantoux test, and drug screening. 

Environmental Conditions: 

• Air Conditioned office environment 

• Occasional time spent in the Commissary production areas 

Education: 

• High School diploma or GED 

Experience: 

• One year in a supervisory position (preferred) 

• Knowledge and experience with basic computer skills

• Prior experience in a manufacturing environment (preferred)
