FDRsafety is seeking a Safety Manager for a large client in the Utilities Industry near Tuscaloosa, AL. This is a full-time permanent opportunity that will offer a generous base salary, a lucrative benefits package, and bonus potential. This position is responsible for the overall management and direction of company safety programs within their designated site and/or region. This field-based position is responsible for traveling to job sites daily, and will lead safety by developing and carrying out procedures with the line organization that effectively control accident and health exposures in the company and minimize OSHA citations.

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Safety, Occupational Safety and Health, or related field preferred, Master’s degree desirable.
  • OSHA 30 Certification required or equivalent industry experience.
  • Five years of professional safety experience in the construction or utility industry is required.
  • Outside Plant (OSP) Fiber Construction experience is required.
  • Bilingual in Spanish and English is strongly preferred
  • Certified Safety Professional (CSP and/or CUSP) Certified Utility Safety Professional status is strongly preferred.
