 The Quality Assurance Manager reports to the Director of Quality and is responsible for the Internal Audit Program. The Quality Assurance Manager will have the knowledge, skills, and abilities to administer all aspects of the quality assurance program including initiating and coordinating investigations, audits, corrective actions, continuous improvement activities, and coordinating document control activities to meet both company and regulatory requirements. 


 Job Duties:

  • Supervises assigned regional auditors.
  • Manage the company's internal/external audit and surveillance program as defined in the Repair Station/Quality Control Manual and other Company policies and procedures.
  • Identify systemic problems with respect to policies and procedures and report deficiencies.
  • Review audit findings and investigation reports to ensure root cause and root cause corrections are properly identified and addressed. 
  • Review and ensure entry of all findings, quality escapes and investigation reports into the quality database.
  • Works with management on yearly audit planning.
  • Initiates and coordinates administration of Corrective Action Plans when applicable, maintains all audit records, sends out reminders when the response is overdue, works with Management to resolve any issues, and performs actual corrective action activities to assist in the corrective action process both internally and for customers.
  • Performs Safety Risk Analysis, Safety Risk Management functions and oversees the department’s data analysis for the company’s SMS.
  • Responsible for the creation of quarterly review reports through the compilation and analysis of data collected both internally and from customers for management review. 
  • Monitor inspection procedures and policy on a random basis to ensure quality control procedures are being effectively carried out.
  • Monitor the operation of service checks on a random basis to ensure the proper procedures and paperwork are being utilized.
  • Act as point of contact during customer, FAA, NAA, and another regulatory agency inquires or audits of the company records or facilities.
  • Review internal and external audit checklists for scope, depth, and relevance to regulatory and industry requirements. Amend or create checklist as necessary.
  • Assist in reviewing and updating procedures of the Repair Station / Quality Control Manual.
  • Maintain the master list and control of inspection stamps and maintain a current roster of authorized Supervisory and Inspection Personnel.
  • Responsible for the company’s Read & Sign program.
  • Maintains the Repair Station and Customer Airline authorization rosters. 
  • Responsible for maintaining the vendor audit processes, procedures, and approvals.
  • Maintains the Repair Station Approved Vendor List.
  • Actively drive and support the company’s QMS, SMS and assist the Director of Quality in matters related to the quality program, policies, and procedures.
  • Performs Other duties as assigned. 

Basic Qualifications:

  • Three years of experience in aerospace industry quality-related roles.
  • Communicate effectively, both orally and in writing, using standard English.

Preferred Skills:

  • Knowledge of 14 CFR Part 145 & 121 operations and environment. 
  • Able to interface in a pleasant and professional manner with all departments, levels of management, customers, and vendors.
  • Be able to analyze information and utilize problem-solving and critical thinking skills.
  • Strong organizational skills to set and meet deadlines.
  • Detail-oriented and can work in a fast-paced environment with constantly shifting priorities.
  • Ability to work independently as well as in a team environment.
  • Possess a high degree of proficiency with MS Office products (including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint).
  • Experience with Quality Assurance, auditing, inspection techniques, document control, corrective and preventative actions, continuous improvement, risk management, and supplier reviews preferred.
  • Bachelor’s degree in aviation management, Safety, or related field; preferred.
  • A&P certificate is a plus.
