TITLE: Project Manager

LOCATION: USA – Maryland, Virginia, DC (Mid-Atlantic where required), other travel maybe required.

JOB DESCRIPTION:

To plan, execute, and delivery quality government and commercial low voltage technical security projects in the Mid-Atlantic region according to strict deadlines and within budget. This includes acquiring resources and coordinating the efforts of team members and third-party contractors or consultants to deliver projects according to plan. The Project Manager will also define the project’s objectives and oversee quality control throughout the project life cycle. As Federal Professional Solutions is a fast-growing systems integrator, this position will require that the employee perform numerous job functions and must have a positive and “can do attitude”.
Additional Duties assigned include estimating, proposals, material control.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Manage project development from initiation to closure.
  • Manage day-to-day client interaction and project requirements.
  • Complete project charter outlining: scope, safety, quality goals, deliverables, required resources, budget and schedule/timing.
  • Lead proposal efforts including completing project scoping and LOE (Level of Effort) assessments.
  • Provide a project schedule to identify when each task will be performed.
  • Track and report on project milestones and provide status reports.
  • Manage project budget.
  • Determine appropriate revenue recognition, ensure timely and accurate invoicing, and monitor receivables for project.
  • Analyze project profitability, revenue, margins, bill rates and utilization.
  • Identify business development and additional sales opportunities as they relate to a specific project.
  • Ensure the maintenance program has correct resources to respond.
  • Identify resources needed and assign individual responsibilities.
  • Create and execute project work plans and revise as appropriate to meet changing needs and requirements.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with clients to support business development efforts and increase secured sales by providing excellent customer service.
  • Maintain clear communication and reporting of all aspects of project activities to uppoer management.
  • Communicate effectively with clients to identify needs and evaluate alternative business solutions.
  • Resolve any issues and solve problems throughout project life cycle.
  • Track and approve team members time and expense reports on a weekly basis.
  • Effectively facilitate regular team and client meetings.
  • Clearly communicate expectations to team members.
  • Lead, coach, and motivate project team members daily.
  • Comply with and enforce standard policies and procedures.

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

  • 4-year college degree or military equivalent in Electronics, Engineering or Computer Science preferred
  • 2-3 years of Commercial Security Integration
  • 2- 3 years of project management experience
  • 2-3 years of low-voltage experience
  • Proficiency with MS office tools
  • Willingness to travel

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

  • Possess understanding in the areas of application programming, database and system design.
  • Demonstrate expertise in system integration, project planning, capacity management and risk management.
  • Able to communicate effectively verbally and in writing, while always maintaining a professional presence.
  • Understand basic revenue models, P/L, and cost-to-completion projections and make decisions accordingly.
  • Able to create clear, concise technical and financial reports using Excel and Word.
  • Able to develop budgets, manage inventory control, and provide coaching.
  • Self-motivated and pro-active attitude to ensure project completion within scope, schedule, code and budget, while always maintaining the highest safety standards.
  • Able to develop and maintain constructive and cooperative working relationships with others.
  • Able to inspire loyalty and trust, while mitigating team conflict and communication problems.

Pay: $80,000.00 - $120,000.00 per year
