What are the responsibilities and job description for the Driver position at Federal Signal Corporation?
The Delivery Driver is a member of the Parts team and ensures that both internal and external customers receive the highest level of service. The primary function of the Delivery Driver is to provide superior customer service through the safe and efficient delivery of parts/products to customers using a company provided vehicle.
The Delivery Driver must be a minimum of 21 years of age and provide a clean driving abstract.
Essential Functions
- Greet and serve every customer courteously and promptly.
- Handle orders and requests for information efficiently.
- Manage time effectively and adapts quickly to changing priorities and management direction.
- Specify and understand parts needed to meet client requirements so that number of parts returns due to errors is low.
- Support management in the accomplishment of assigned tasks including maintaining inventory control and parts area appearance.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Excellent attendance; is consistently at work and on time.
- Capable of following written instructions and documented procedures.
- Must demonstrate exceptional customer service skills and time management skills.
- Must be extremely well organized and self-motivated.
- Must have excellent navigational skills.
- Must have excellent communication skills.
- Must maintain a professional demeanor with customers at all times; appearance must be professional as well.
- Must have a clean driving record and submit to driving record abstract at company’s request, for insurance purposes.
- Must take pride in work and strive to improve skills and knowledge.
- Must be team oriented and have the ability to take direction.
- Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds.
- Must be able to stock and retrieve products from shelves.
- Must be skilled at developing and maintaining relationships with new and existing customers.
