Job Specific Information:
FedEx Services is seeking a manager of the mission critical Network Systems. Primary focus will be leading agile development teams to build the next level network generation, planning & optimization systems. Successful candidate will need to be comfortable leading and supporting application teams and collaborating with business and IT partners. Successful candidate will need to collaborate with his or her peers to lead the team and remove obstacles as the teams actively pursues our strategy. This must be done while ensuring operational excellence, security, and lifecycle management of the existing systems are met.
To manage the design and development activities for a group. responsibility Includes systems and application analysis, programming, feasibility studies, etc.
Abilities/Knowledge/Skills Considered a Plus:
- Proven Leadership experience in IT operations/software development/integration activities.
- QDM mindset with basic understanding of instrumentation and monitoring/instrumentation tools
- Strong understanding of FXG hub and station operations is considered a plus.
- • Understanding of Renewal Tenets and how they apply to operations of IT systems.
- IT operations experience of large scale mission critical systems
- Superior collaboration and communications skills
- Ability to manage several complex projects concurrently or large projects with multiple workstreams
- An in-depth understanding of business concepts and ability to translate complex technical concepts into easily understood business terms
- Experience in contract negotiations and Alternate Delivery resource management
- Basic understanding of Agile methodology and practices
- The ability to thrive in an agile environment with frequent change
- Enthusiastic with a Positive Attitude
- Excellent at coaching and mentoring others
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree/equivalent in computer science, math or directly related quantitative Degree or related field. A related advanced degree may offset the related experience requirements. Five (5) years systems development experience which includes programming. Skill in one or more programming languages. If position is in mainframe environment, complex systems experience on IBM operating systems or microprocessors required. Experience in the technical design and development of major data processing projects. IMS experience. If position is in client/server environment, systems development experience to include distributed systems is required. Experience in client/server technology, object oriented (OO) development or case tools. Experience in the technical design and development of major client/server projects. Knowledge of software and engineering principles. Strong basic management, human relations and communication skills.
