Overview of position:
FEDITC is seeking a Security Engineer to support a remote team for a software/IT support project. To be considered for this position, the candidate must be a United States citizen with a Public Trust clearance or the ability to obtain one quickly.
Responsibilities:
- Assists with the development and implementation of information assurance (IA) and security standards and procedures.
- Coordinates, develops, and evaluates security programs for an organization. Performs analysis, design, and development of security features.
- Analyzes and defines security requirements for network environments, systems, and software applications.
- Analyzes general information assurance-related technical problems and provides basic engineering and technical support in solving these problems.
- Performs vulnerability/risk analyses of systems and applications during all phases of the system development life cycle.
- Develops and maintains Risk Management Framework documentation.
- Maintains network, system, and application security in accordance with STIGS and local policy.
Qualifications
Experience/Skills:
- Minimum of 5 years of cybersecurity engineering, including software and application security.
- Experience with eMASS.
- Experience with FISMA.
- Understanding of the software development lifecycle.
- Understanding of cybersecurity principles.
- Strong analytical skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Proven ability to serve as part of a team.
Education:
- BS/BA degree in IT, Computer Science, or similar, or commensurate experience.
Certifications:
- CISSP or equivalent IAT III certification.
Clearance:
- Must be a US Citizen and pass a background check.
- Maintain applicable security clearance(s) at the level required by the client and applicable certification(s) as requested by FEDITC or required by FEDITC’S Client(s)/Customer(s)/Prime contractor(s).
