Overview of position:
FEDITC is seeking a TEMPEST Technician to work in the San Antonio, TX area. United States Citizenship and an active TS/SCI DoD Security Clearance is required to be considered for this position. This is an upcoming position contingent on contract award.
Responsibilities:
- Responsible for planning, preparing, and executing tests of systems to evaluate results against specifications and requirements as well as analyzing / reporting test results.
- Conduct Research efforts to support test and evaluation and range operations.
- Research, develop, evolve, and field capabilities and methodologies and to ensure these capabilities and methodologies are integrated with DoD guidance and policy.
- Conduct reviews of competing assessment programs, methodologies, processes, and objectives and provide recommendations on how to improve the defense cyber operations (DCO) concept, process, and reporting.
- Research, develop, document, and maintain methodologies that address the full spectrum of a test, assessment, or range event: planning, execution, and reporting.
- Provide methodologies that include tested and proven tools (both hardware and software based), tactics, techniques and procedures while updating methodologies and integrating new ones.
- Provide research for new major program efforts and range initiatives.
- Evaluate tools for collecting, analyzing, and reporting the data required to determine the security posture of the devices and all device types used in support of Test and Range mission operations.
- Provide recommendations to the team lead to define tool requirements and identify, document and demonstrate the proper usage of all tools developed and modified (including scripts and data base queries).
- Provide qualified personnel services in preparation of TEMPEST test events.
- Prepare TEMPEST test plans using approved templates according to national TEMPEST standards and deliver to the COR or designated Government representative no later than 14 calendar days prior to test start date.
- Determine required test equipment.
- Validate operational capability of test equipment.
- Prepare travel arrangements / trip planning (if required).
- Determine site availability.
- Configure Mobile Assessment Vehicle (MAV), other test vehicles or anechoic chamber for specific tests.
- Perform necessary functions to obtain maintenance on TEMPEST test vehicles.
- Develop test schedules.
- Coordinate other logistics, as required for planning TEMPEST test events.
- Operate Radio Frequency (RF) receiver systems.
- Conduct spectrum signal search.
- Make RF and time domain data recordings (data capture).
- Make frequency and amplitude signal measurements.
- Provide configuration management, documentation, hardware / software updates and integration of TEMPEST test suites, tools, and equipment.
- Send and receive TEMPEST test equipment to / from Precision Measurement Equipment Laboratory (PMEL), as well as monitor the status of all equipment sent for calibration.
- Create, edit, and deliver TEMPEST test reports to COR or designated Government representative. Deliver reports within 30 calendar days following test completion.
- Prepare TEMPEST test reports using approved templates according to national TEMPEST standards.
- Support embedded testing efforts through the use of automated testing tools such as Selenium.
- Provide qualified personnel to enhance and further the TEMPEST mission.
- Other support duties as needed/directed.

Education:
- Associates degree in related field
Certifications:
- CE Certification
- IAT II
Clearance:
- Active TS/SCI Security Clearance is required.
- Must be a US Citizen and pass a background check.
- Maintain applicable security clearance(s) at the level required by the client and/or applicable certification(s) as requested by FEDITC and/or required by FEDITC’S Client(s)/Customer(s)/Prime contractor(s).
