Feeding America, Kentucky’s Heartland’s Development Team is responsible for sustaining positive and mutually rewarding relationships between Feeding America, Kentucky’s Heartland (FAKH) and its donors, volunteers and community partners in service to our neighbors facing food-insecurity.

The Donor Relations Manager will be responsible for managing the annual fund program and providing administrative support for relationship-based fundraising efforts and stewardship execution. They will also develop and implement seven annual fundraising campaigns.

Primary Responsibilities Include:

Annual Fund Management:

● Oversees revenue and expense budget for the Annual Fund, monitoring trends and ROI.​

● Develop and execute seven annual fundraisers that integrate all available channels including; Direct Mail, Digital Marketing, Social and Website Engagement, DipJar/Spark Virtual, Agency Partner Collaboration, etc., includes acquisition and cultivation outreach and meets revenue, retention and acquisition goals.

● Leads efforts to identify and engage new constituencies, renew existing, and reactivate lapsed supporters to the food bank.​

● Broadens donor acquisition strategies across digital and offline channels in collaboration with the Marketing & Communications team.​

● Drives Annual Fund renewal & acquisition campaigns to grow the donor base, improve learnings, and retain donors.​

● Partners with DevOps to ensure successful segmentation, tracking, reporting and analysis of campaigns and appeals.​

● Manages donor surveys and other research activities to ensure that all Annual Fund messaging reflects the interests and concerns of our constituents.​

● Works with Marketing & Communications, Programs, and Development teams to identify compelling stories, projects, and programs to showcase in fundraising activities. Actively works to integrate the Annual Fund program with other fundraising and communications activities.​

● Ensure team has the resources, project management systems, and prioritization structures it needs to get the job done well. ​

Donor Relations:

● Responsible for developing and overseeing the work plan and budget for managing individual donor portfolios; setting strategy and schedules, managing deadlines, tracking expenses and meeting revenue, retention and acquisition goals.​

● Collaborate with the Development Team to create, assign and manage segmented and tiered donor portfolios that includes moves management plans, accountability reporting and analytics.

● Work with Development Team to design and implement integrated cultivation and stewardship strategies for monthly donors, mid-level donors, major gift donors, giving societies, affinity groups and prospects being qualified for portfolio assignment.​

● Collaborates with Marketing and Communications Manager to develop complementary, multi-channel collateral for use in stewarding, engaging and fundraising.

● Provide data-driven administrative fundraising support to members of the Development Team, particularly the ED and DoD, as well as other staff as needed.​

● Assist with department operations such as donor stewardship correspondence, gift acknowledgements, benefits fulfillment and generation of prospect reports.​

● Partners with DevOps to conduct prospect research to identify potential donors and contributors through examination of past records, individual and corporate contacts and knowledge of community.​

● Adhere to Association of Fundraising Professionals Code of Ethical Standards and Donor Bill of Rights to ensure ethical, trustworthy and transparent fundraising practices.

● Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

● Will consider candidates with an equivalent combination of relevant education and experience. Prefer three or more years of experience in Development, including multi-channel fundraising and donor cultivation and stewardship.

● Proficiency in Google Workspace and CRM database experience.

● Experience managing and analyzing data to improve outcomes.

● Outstanding oral and written communication skills.

● Attention to detail and strong organizational skills.

● Excellent customer service skills.

● Be reliable, punctual, and self-motivated.

● Strong teamwork with outstanding work ethic.

● Valid Kentucky Driver’s License and a good driving record.

● Pass all required pre-employment tests.

Work Schedule: Typical schedule, Monday-Friday, 8 a.m.-5 p.m.

Occasional travel within the FAKH service area will be required.

Days and hours are flexible to fit the needs of FAKH’s mission.

FLSA Status: Full-Time, Hourly

Reports to: Director of Development

Pay: $19.23 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week
