What are the responsibilities and job description for the Medical Director position at FEFA, LLC?
FEFA LLC is seeking an experienced Site Occupational Medical Director (SOMD) to support FEFA and our government client in Richland, Washington. This is a full-time, on-site position.
The SOMD is a key leadership position with the purpose to provide an Occupational Medical (OccMed) Services program of superior quality in support of a 9,000 person workforce at a Department of Energy (DOE) occupational medical facility. The SOMD will oversee the administration of occupational medical services plus advise DOE on medical issues and worker health and wellness.
COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS:
Salary Range: $315,000 - $410,000 (annual salary range is based on multiple factors that include, but not limited to, education, work experience, qualifications, market rate, internal equity, budgetary allowances, etc.)

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS, RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES (MAY INCLUDE, BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO):
- Oversee staff of professionals that provide clinical services.
- Involved with consultation, as needed, with clinic physician assistants (PAs) or nurse practitioners (NPs).
- Apply appropriate DOE directives in the workplace.
- Participate in meetings and committees, as requested.
- Provide assessment and treatment of work-related illnesses and injuries.
- Develop and maintain policies and procedures, plus assist with interpretation if needed.
- Provide urgent care of non-work-related injuries and illnesses as best supports site activities.
- Manage and organize a team’s work to be delivered with efficiency, effectiveness and accuracy while still meeting budget requirements and standards of excellence for the clinic.
- Assist with the recruiting and managing of physicians, nurses and other medical and non-medical staff plus oversee all training is executed appropriately for the clinic.
- Fully understand the internal processes of all departments.
- Examine and coordinate the clinic’s activities to guarantee medical quality.
WORK EXPERIENCE, KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
- Must have a minimum of three years of experience in the oversight and management of occupational medical programs of similar scope
- A medical degree and board certification in family medicine, emergency care or occupational health
- Must be able to meet the requirements for obtaining an L Security Clearance for DOE
- Possess a valid, unrestricted license to practice medicine in the State of Washington
- Certified in Occupational and Environmental Medicine (OEM), Aerospace Medicine (AM) or Public Health (PH) and Preventative Medicine (PM) by an appropriate medical or osteopathic medical certifying board
- U.S. Citizenship (required)
- DOE or federal government previous work experience (preferred)
- Excellent communication skills
- Strong leadership skills
