Job Summary:

The Network Specialist will ensure the optimal performance of our internal networks for our computers and all other IT infrastructure. This person will analyze our networks to maintain the best possible performance, flow of information, network security and ensure that the networks function efficiently by collecting performance data, monitoring security, anticipating problems, and troubleshooting any issues.

Qualifications

Essential Job Duties:
1. Understands, endorses and supports the mission and values Felling Trailers, Inc.
2. Understands, endorses, supports and teaches the policies and procedures of the company.
3. Develops, gains approval of and implements goals, objectives and budgets for his/her area of responsibility.
4. Provides meaningful input in regards to the policies, operations and direction of Felling Trailers, Inc.
5. Conducts special studies and analyses in his/her area of responsibility as directed.

6. Participates in the development of initiatives by providing input on technology and information processing requirements. Designing and installing computer networks, connections, and cabling as well as connecting a wide range of IT related hardware to the various networks.
7. Receives projects and related information and prioritizes projects.
8. Interacts with users as needed to answer questions, clarify the project outputs and gain approvals.
9. Initiates projects, works across teams and monitors projects to assure successful completion.
10. Creates and generates reports on project information, project status, project summary, etc.
11. Troubleshoots and corrects problems with project outcomes. Troubleshooting system failures and identifying roadblocks in the network/LAN infrastructure.
12. Assures the security and backup of all electronic data.
13. Stays abreast of innovations and new information technology developments, analyzing them and recommending those that would support the companys strategic direction.
14. Maintains and enhances all hardware and software systems. Maintaining, replacing, and upgrading firmware for all network related switches and firewalls.
15. Manages and directs all external service operations assuring timely and exceptional service.
16. Provides technical consulting and user problem resolution.
17. Evaluating network performance to improve the network.
18. Measures and increases user satisfaction through quality management process.
19. Scheduling upgrades and maintenance without interrupting business workflow.
20. Evaluates hardware and software for purchase/implementation.
21. Making recommendations for needed equipment for the networks and systems.
22. Participates in the quality assurance process.
23. Works to provide the highest level of system accessibility as is economically feasible.
24. Manages local data center environment.
25. Implement disaster recovery procedures and assist in creating and updating documentation.

26. Provides application support to internal and external users.
27. Willingness to visit client locations.

32. Performs related work as required.
Experience working with any of the following will be considered a plus:
1. Ruckus Wi-Fi access points using various forms of management. Both cloud and virtual.
2. Ubiquiti and EnGenius point to points
3. Setup and configuration of a wide range of Network gear including
4. Hewlett Packard
5. Cisco
6. Extreme
7. Sonic Wall
8. Virtual servers in a VMware environment
9. Veeam backups
10. Working knowledge of transferring, maintaining MS records, SSL Certificates and domain renewals a plus
