Fence Outlet is looking for an experienced Maintenance Technician for our new Manufacturing and Distribution Center in Lake Wales, Florida!

Major Purposes

The Maintenance Mechanical /Electrical Technician will be responsible for troubleshooting, maintaining, repairing, and modifying extrusion and test equipment to improve systems uptime and reliability.

Essential Job Functions

• Ensures operation of machinery and mechanical equipment by completing preventive maintenance requirements on plastic extrusion and production machines; following wiring diagrams, operations manuals, manufacturer's instructions, and engineering specifications; troubleshooting malfunctions
• Locates sources of problems by observing mechanical devices in operation; listening for problems; using precision measuring and testing instruments
• Removes defective parts by dismantling devices; using hoists, cranes, and hand and power tools; examining form and texture of parts
• Determines changes in dimensional requirements of parts by inspecting used parts; using rulers, calipers, micrometers, and other measuring instruments
• Adjusts functional parts of devices and control instruments by using hand tools, levels, plumb bobs, and straightedges
• Controls downtime by informing production workers of routine preventive maintenance techniques; monitoring compliance
• Fabricates repair parts by using machine shop instrumentation and equipment
• Maintains equipment, parts, and supplies inventories by checking stock to determine inventory level; anticipating needed equipment, parts, and supplies; placing and expediting orders; verifying receipt
• Follows all safety procedures to diminish risk to themselves, team members, and equipment

Skills, Knowledge & Abilities

• Knowledge of hydraulics, pneumatic and pipe fitting
• Knowledge of Basic PLC’s, VFD's and basic motor controls in industrial equipment
• Ability to read and interpret maintenance manuals, electrical schematics and blue prints
• Ability to use hand tools, multi-meter and trades type tools
• Must be able to perform preventative maintenance checks and repairs on industrial equipment
• Must be able to analyze mechanical and operational problems on assigned equipment and plan for and take corrective action.
• Ability to work in an environment with high levels of noise and heat
• Demonstrated ability to understand technical details

Requirements

The incumbent must have proficient knowledge in the following areas:

• Knowledge of PLC’s, VFD's and basic motor controls
• Basic math skills

• Time management skills
• Ability to work with minimal supervision and determine task priorities
• Ability to use hand and electrical tools
• Ability to work with complex machinery
• Ability to use machine manuals and electrical schematics to troubleshoot machine issues

Education/Experience

• Minimum of two years’ experience as an industrial machine mechanic or technician
• Minimum of one year basic electrical experience
• High School diploma or GED

Additional Requirements

• Must be able to frequently stand, walk, view computer monitors, give and receive oral communication, bend squat, reach above shoulder level, and discern color. Must be able to occasionally sit, drive, type, and make fine discrimination in sound
• Must be able to regularly lift/carry up to 20lbs occasionally life/carry up to 50 lbs.
• Must be able to do repetitive simple grasping, fine manipulation, and pushing and pulling on a frequent basis
• As needed work a varied schedule that include nights, weekends, and holidays
• Must be able to work overtime as needed with short notice
• All other duties as assigned by immediate supervisor and/or management
