POSITION SUMMARY: The Textile Fabricator will be responsible for transforming raw materials into finished textile goods using various cutting, sewing, and assembly techniques. Your attention to detail, precision, and dedication to maintaining production standards will play a crucial role in delivering top-notch products to our customers.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND TASKS:
- Prepare and organize raw materials, ensuring they are properly measured and cut to specifications.
- Operate and maintain textile machinery such as sewing machines, cutting machines, and presses.
- Execute various fabricating techniques including sewing, stitching, bonding, and assembling to create finished textile products.
- Collaborate with design and production teams to ensure accurate execution of projects.
- Monitor the quality of finished products, identifying defects or imperfections and making necessary adjustments.
- Maintain a clean and organized workspace, adhering to safety and quality protocols.
- Participate in team meetings to discuss production progress, challenges, and improvements.
- Follow established production schedules to ensure timely completion of projects.
- Assist in troubleshooting and resolving technical issues related to equipment or processes.
- Stay up-to-date with industry trends, techniques, and technology advancements in textile fabrication.
- Perform other related duties as required.
EQUIPMENT/ COMPUTER SKILLS:
- Experience in a variety of technology (desktops, laptops, PDAs, etc)
- Experience using general office equipment (computer, fax machine, and copier, etc.)
- Experience using Microsoft Word, Excel (especially Excel spreadsheets), and Outlook
EXPERIENCE, EDUCATION, KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES:
- High school diploma or equivalent; vocational training in textile fabrication is a plus.
- Proven experience as a Textile Fabricator or similar role in a manufacturing or production environment.
- Proficiency in operating textile machinery and tools.
- Strong understanding of various fabrics, textiles, and their properties.
- Excellent attention to detail and precision in executing fabricating techniques.
- Basic math skills for accurate measurements and calculations.
- Good communication skills and ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
- Physical dexterity and stamina to perform repetitive tasks and stand for extended periods.
- Problem-solving skills and ability to troubleshoot technical issues.
- Knowledge of safety protocols and practices within a manufacturing setting.
