Candidate must have an extensive background in planned / preventive maintenance, equipment life cycle, building management systems, and mechanical, electrical and plumbing systems. Ensures all PM’s are completed within compliance guidelines. Manage and update the site asset replacement plan for capital investments.
Responsibilities
In addition to the essential job functions described above, this role will be responsible for:
- Developing and managing direct reports through consistent and frequent coaching, leadership enhancement and regular performance reviews.
- Providing leadership, direction, and organization of day-to-day maintenance tasks. Perform repairs, inspections and planned maintenance tasks as needed.
- Managing outside service providers who perform maintenance and repairs on the building and equipment.
- Establishing and managing effective standards and procedures for in-house operation and maintenance of the heating, air handling, electrical, mechanical, and plumbing systems within a Distribution Center.
- Troubleshooting systems and complete failure analysis.
- Performing repairs and maintenance on equipment as needed.
- Following all applicable safety protocols.
- Participating in monthly facility management calls.
- Working with other departments to incorporate facility changes, equipment changes, and other projects as needed.
- Working with all Ferguson associates involved in facility operations.
- Maintaining a cooperative and productive working relationship with all components of the Facilities Department.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or Electrical Engineering and 3 years experience in a Maintenance Supervisor or Maintenance Manager role with an emphasis on team development, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Strong organizational skills and ability to prioritize workload appropriately in order to handle multiple demands and meet timelines as required.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, building layouts, equipment specifications, schematics, and system drawings.
- Exhibit necessary knowledge in all applicable code requirements and follow compliance by use of standard operation procedures and protocols. This includes all BOCA, NFPA, EPA, OSHA, State and local regulatory reporting agencies for equipment, utilities, and facilities.
- Demonstrable knowledge of life safety and auxiliary power systems, fire pumps, HVAC systems, commercial plumbing, electrical and pneumatic controls, compressors, dryers, and conveyors.
- Experience with material handling and packaging equipment such as Autostore, boxing, and wrapping equipment.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, strong attention to detail and quality of work required.
