JOB DETAILS: Barista/Café Counter Staff at Outpost serve a pinnacle role in the café from leading coffee quality control, to offering warm hospitality, and setting an example of exemplary customer service to other employees. As a member of our Café Counter staff, you’ll have the opportunity to train as a barista on-site directly with our coffee partner who will be coming in from Brooklyn, NY. A positive attitude is not only encouraged, but is crucial to this role, as you are often the first face our guests see as they enter the cafe. It is imperative for baristas to have an overarching knowledge of the entire menu, ranging from coffee, wine, food and pastry. This role demands that you keep a clean and organized workspace not only as a representation of the product we are serving, but also to maintain a welcoming environment for guests and coworkers. Your specific job duties and expectations are outlined below:

REQUIREMENTS & CHARACTERISTICS OF SUCCESS: Previous hospitality experience preferred, but no experience is required if you have an enthusiasm to learn and ambition to grow. Must be able to comply with all health and safety standards. Flexibility to work weekends and holidays as required. Excellent communication skills to collaborate effectively with various teams and communicate instructions clearly. Thinks clearly, quickly, and maintains concentration during high pressure situations.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS: The physical demands for this position are seeing, hearing, speaking, reaching, frequently lifting up to 50 pounds, standing up 8 hours, bending, and moving intermittently during working hours. COMPENSATION Compensation for this role is $12-14/hour (commensurate with experience) plus tips.
