Primary Responsibilities
- Drive the success of various accounting functions, including AR, AP, Payroll, Fixed Asset Accounting, Cost Accounting, and Tax Filings.
- Team up with the Controller and accounting team to create and implement financial policies, procedures, and internal controls, safeguarding company assets and ensuring accurate financial reporting.
- Leverage your analytical skills to uncover opportunities for cost reduction, efficiency improvements, and product profitability.
- Provide essential support to department heads, guiding budgetary matters and ensuring smooth financial operations across the organization.
- Work directly with Controller to manage the accounting department including, but not limited to, accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, financial reporting, and tax accruals
- Positive attitude, strong work ethic and eager to take on more responsibility
- Developing Standard Operating Procedures alongside existing accounting team and Controller
Requirements:
- Must be at least 21 years old
- Strong knowledge of US GAAP
- Experience with an inventory-based business
- A high degree of integrity and ethical conduct always
- Excellent Microsoft Excel skills
- Strong interpersonal, verbal, and written skills
- Strong attention to details
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA designation strongly preferred
- Possess at least 5 years of progressive accounting experience, including 2 years in a supervisory role
- Demonstrate proficiency in Excel, ERP/accounting software, and are eager to learn the cannabis industry's unique financial landscape
- Showcase exceptional communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills, along with the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
- Relocation to the greater Northampton, Massachusetts area, and ability to work on-site (hybrid role)
