The position of the Transportation Clerk is exempt from the overtime provisions of the Federal Fair Labor Standards Act and shall not be entitled to overtime compensation for hours worked in excess of 40 in any one work week.
The Transportation Clerk shall be responsible for routing customers, answering phone calls from customers, customer service, drivers and sales representatives regarding delivery issues; and other miscellaneous administrative functions.
The Transportation Clerk shall be accountable to, and supervised by, the Transportation Manager.
Essential Job Functions:
DELIVERIES

Coordinate with dispatcher in making changes to the dispatching sheet and manifest, update and email to the credit, customer service, billing and fleet departments.

Update the information in RoadNet, check driver and helper assignments to ensure accuracy for each route and update the departure times.

Update employee information RoadNet and in the documents in TRANS 4.

Schedule appointments for deliveries to distributor customers.

Prepare dispatching sheet for the next day, confirming assignments with Transportation Supervisor/Manager; making calls to the drivers and helpers that are new on the routes.

Route new customers on the respective routes and work with their window time.

Route customers that request special deliveries for the week, see if we can accommodate them on the routes.

Backup receiving department when receiving is busy by helping schedule appointments for inbound loads.

Answer phone calls from customers, customer service, drivers and sales representatives regarding the delivery times and issues with their deliveries.

Download and print tickets for customers pick ups.

On Fridays, route for Saturday deliveries (download, print tickets and run reports for warehouse).
PAYROLL

Review Payroll report from transportation employees daily.

Report any absences from transportation employees daily.

Report any vacation or sick days taken for transportation employees

Formal training in RoadNet software a plus.

Must maintain a valid Driver’s License.
