Director of Operations - $100,000 Annually
The Director of Operations will help drive change, lead the warehouse and transportation functions of the operations, must be willing to take ownership and dedicate the time needed to complete departmental and company-wide objectives, and be part of the long- term growth of the company.
Essential Job Functions:
- Responsible for the clean, accurate, efficient, fiscally responsible daily work and safety of inbound and outbound warehouse, transportation (delivery), fleet services, facilities departments and associates.
- Oversee the cost, quality, quantity, and good efficiency of the storage and movement of goods.
- Control and coordinate the order phase and colligated information systems.
- Monitors the condition and maintenance of the warehouse, fleet services, equipment, software, refrigeration system, heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC) systems, fire protection, and office by ensuring that all are kept consistent with the safety, security, sanitation and appearance standards set by Ferraro in an effort to reduce or eliminate operations-related injuries or accidents, damage/loss of product or equipment, and unnecessary costs.
- Communicates with merchandising, sales management and marketing associates to collaboratively resolve any customer or delivery opportunities or issues.

- Ensures contingency systems/practices/protocols are in place to eliminate business disruption.
- Implement and support programs and policies of organization.
- Analyze logistical problems, developing new solutions and increasing business growth by winning new contracts.
- Negotiate with warehouse operators, insurance company representatives, and carrier for preferential rates and services.
- Implement safety and health procedures among transport staff.
- Evaluate the inventory costs and freight costs associated with transportation to ensure appropriate costs.
- Travel to existing and future establishments, as needed.
Minimum Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Bachelor’s degree in business administration, supply chain management, operations management or equivalent combination of education and related experience.
- Able to meet fixed deadlines and manage under pressure.
- Ability to delegate duties
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Excellent leadership, negotiation, and organizational skills.
- Ability to motivate transport and warehouse staff members.
- Must have sturdy problem-solving skills.
- Solid computer skills.
- Must have a valid Driver's License.
Preferred Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- MBA and/or ten years of job-related experience.
- Computer experience, preferably with all Microsoft applications
- Ability to adapt to changing priorities in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
- Position will require frequent walking, standing, lifting and bending
