Position Summary
The Bookkeeper is responsible for the day-to-day financial tasks of the organization. The Bookkeeper is responsible for both accounts payable and receivable along with all payroll and bank account management and reconciliation tasks.
Essential Functions
- Record day-to-day financial transactions and complete the posting process.
- Reconcile taxes, 401k, and bank accounts at the end of each month.
- Process accounts receivable and accounts payable.
- Pay vendor invoices and track bank account balances.
- Verify the accuracy of business accounts and alert accountant of errors.
- Record inconsistencies to help accountant reconcile inaccuracies.
- Process and manage employee expense reports.
- Resolve any concerns client has regarding invoice/work performed. Communicate with the Project Manager.
- Post and deposit checks into accounting system and bank.
- Enter and pay bills in accounting system.
Qualifications
- A Bachelors degree in accounting or related field required.
- Office 365 is a plus
- Proficiency in accounting software particularly Quickbooks a plus
- 2-3 years of bookkeeping experience
