Veterinary Oncology Technician
Fetch Specialty & Emergency Veterinary Centers is currently seeking a dedicated and compassionate Veterinary Oncology Technician to join our team. As a member of our oncology department, you will play a crucial role in providing exceptional care to our patients and supporting our veterinarians in their specialized oncology treatments.
Key Responsibilities:
Assist in the diagnosis and treatment of pets with cancer
Perform chemotherapy administration under the direction of veterinarians
Monitor and record vital signs of patients receiving treatments
Handle and prepare chemotherapy drugs with utmost care and adherence to safety protocols
Perform venipuncture and IV catheter placement
Assist with diagnostic procedures such as biopsies, ultrasounds and computed tomography (CT)
Maintain accurate medical records and update patient information as needed
Provide compassionate care and support to patients and their pet parents
Collaborate with the oncology team to develop and implement treatment plans for patients
Minimum of 2 years of experience as a Veterinary Technician, with a focus on oncology
Strong knowledge of chemotherapy administration and handling of chemotherapy drugs
Excellent technical skills, including proficiency in venipuncture and IV catheter placement
Experience with diagnostic procedures such as biopsies and ultrasounds
Attention to detail and ability to accurately maintain medical records
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced and team-oriented environment
