WHAT YOU’LL DO:
The Medical Assistant performs medical, phlebotomy, IV Therapy, IM and Subcutaneous Administration, Nasopharyngeal Specimen Collection, 12 lead ECG and clinical duties, keeps track of supplies and equipment, keeps exam rooms neat and clean.

SUPERVISES: None
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS INCLUDE BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO:
- Performs nursing procedures under supervision of a licensed healthcare provider.
- Escorts patients to exam rooms, triage patients, i.e., history and physical, measure of vital signs, including weigh, blood pressure, pulse, temperature, and document all information in patients’ chart.
- Preforms the following procedures: EKG’s, X-Rays, drug screens, in-house lab procedures, IV’s and spirometry/PFT test.
- Screens and assesses patient for pain.
- Obtains blood and specimens by performing venipunctures and fingerstick.
- Collects therapeutic drug-monitoring assays by collaborating with nursing personnel to ensure appropriate drug dose and collection time.
- Answers questions from the patient they may have regarding treatment.
- Inventory medical supplies
- Administer intravenous vitamin therapy.
- Maintains quality results by following facility procedures and testing schedule; recording results and reporting needed changes.

- Maintains safe, secure, and healthy work environment by following standards and procedures, complying with legal regulations.
Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or GED required.
- Graduate of an accredited medical assistant or paramedic program
- Certificate in Phlebotomy preferred.
- Crisis Prevention Intervention (CPI) Training or can obtain through FHE Health
- CPR Certification or can obtain through FHE Health
- Certification in IV Therapy preferred.
- KIPU knowledge preferred.
- Experience working in behavioral health, addiction and/or substance abuse setting required.
- 2 Years of experience preferred.
