Job Description
Title: Inventory, Shipping & Receiving Technician
Reports To: Field Service Manager
Position Summary:
This position requires you to manage inventory for this location as well as manage shipping and receiving for this location, through physical counts, documentation and electronic data entry.
Job Description/Expectations:
- Manage inventory for this location.
- Understand and follow all required procedures when shipping
- Understand and follow all required procedures when handling hazardous materials and type 1 explosives.
- Communicate any shipping or receiving discrepancies or issues to FSM,
- Establish & maintain relationships with shipping vendors, and secure the best pricing.
- Prep items for shipment: documentation and identifying information review and prep.
- Determine best shipment methods for product to be shipped.

Unpack and examine incoming shipments.
- Reject damaged items.
- Record shortages.
- Correspond with the shipper to rectify damages and shortages.
- Tag Special Order items and notify purchasing department and shop department supervisor of arrival.
- Verify information against bills of lading, invoices, and orders as well as keeping records of incoming shipments.
- Compare identifying information (count, part number, heat number, date code and purchase order) for incoming shipments within 24 hours of receipt.
- Issue good receipts into SAP same day as receipt
- Resolve any receiving discrepancies within 24 hours.
- Issue delivery tickets prior to product shipping
- Route items to departments.
- Understand and follow procedures involving damaged or defective goods returned by customers.
- Maintain the OSHA required SDS book for shop(s)
- Perform other job responsibilities as assigned.
Knowledge / Skills / Expertise:
- Compiling, checking and recording information.
- Communication proficiency, organizational skills, mathematical skills, thoroughness, time management.
- Read, write and communicate clearly in English.
- Ability to carry out work or lead in absence of supervisor.
- Good decision-making skills with ability to work under pressure.
- Troubleshooting and analytical skills needed.
- Experience with incoming and outgoing shipments.
- Ability to work with hand tools like box cutters, and pry bars.
- Knowledge of International Shipping and Receiving Rules and regulations
- Knowledge of ATF Rules and Regulations regarding handling type 1 explosives and hazardous materials
Environmental Conditions and Work Environment:
- Exposure to certain contaminants, at times.
- Exposure to loud noise levels, at times.
- This position works in a warehouse setting, with some outdoor exposure during the workday.
- This role may, at times, use standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines, and standard warehouse equipment such as hand trucks, box cutters, etc.
Tools and Equipment Used:
May be required to operate forklift to maneuver parts at times, operate overhead crane, sanders, various welding equipment and tools, grinders, generators, wrenches, common hand, and power tools.

- This position requires continual use of your hands, considerable use of your arms and legs and moving your whole body, such as climbing, lifting, balancing, pushing, pulling, repetitive motions, coordination, and dexterity, sitting, walking, stooping and handling materials.
- The employee must regularly lift and/or move objects up to 50-75 pounds or more without physical restrictions.
- Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color and peripheral vision and depth perception.
- Climbing on ladders may be required at times.
- Employees are regularly required to stand and walk for long periods of time.
- The use of safety equipment such as safety glasses, steel-toed shoes/boots, gloves, hard hats, and hearing protection daily.

This position may work overtime hours as needed, according to department workload.
