The Role

In this role, you will join Fidelity Capital Markets’ (FCM’s) Fixed Income Sales desk and support clients, primarily municipal bond institutionally focused customers. You will work with the sales team, traders, underwriter, relationship manager, compliance, and operations to support fixed income sales in a fast-paced team-oriented environment.

• We work in conjunction with trading, strategy, underwriting and operations to facilitate the purchase and sale of fixed income products for institutional clients.
• The institutional sales desk will work in conjunction with the Underwriters on competitive and negotiated new issue offerings and traders on facilitating liquidity in the secondary market.
• Promote Fidelity’s Fixed Income offering to business partners and assist with relevant market information.
• Diligently and continuously try to identify areas of improvement and be a part of developing the plan to implement change.
• A proactive, positive and collaborative mentality is a critical component to the role.

The Expertise and Skills You Bring

• Bachelor's Degree
• Series 7 and 63 (if not currently registered, exams must be passed within three months of hire)
• 5 years of experience in fixed income markets
• 5 years experience in fixed income sales
• Knowledge of the institutional spaces and sales process
• The ability to efficiently and effectively communicate and serve as the product specialist for/with clients of different sophistication levels
• A proven track record to succeed in a fast-paced trading floor environment.
• Fixed income knowledge is required, with a strong proficiency in the Municipal Market.
• High degree of proficiency with technology, particularly Bloomberg. Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint  experience is a plus.
• A strong attention to detail, enjoy working collaboratively with a team
• Ability to multi-task and assist multiple distribution channels in a timely manner

FCM Fixed Income team enthusiastically supports a variety of internal and external institutional clients. Your work will directly impact the various FCM businesses that support these clients.

Fidelity's working model blends the best of working offsite with maximizing time together in person to meet associate and business needs. Currently, most hybrid roles require associates to work onsite all business days of one assigned week per four-week period (beginning in September 2024, the requirement will be two full assigned weeks).
