The Role

We are seeking a Team Leader to manage the Common Risk Platform. This role will manage our multifaceted and fast-paced quantitative team developing a consolidated investment risk platform.

This role impacts the organization by driving and leading a strategic platform direction and delivering high value, scalable rapidly developed solutions for Asset Management.

The right candidate will also serve as coach & mentor for team members and must have the technical abilities, financial investment knowledge and discernment needed to optimally lead the team.

This position can be located in Boston, Merrimack, Smithfield, and Raleigh.

The Expertise and Skills You Bring

  • Bachelors in a quantitative or computational field such as Computer Science or Applied Mathematics.
  • Over 15 years professional experience in leading software technology teams with significant experience in quantitative development.
  • Demonstrate good communication, interpersonal and relationship building skills to influence decisions and engage across Fidelity and at all levels of the organization
  • Strong full-stack software engineering skills, including R, Java, SQL and Linux.
  • Demonstrate knowledge in investment risk in either equities, fixed income or multi asset classes.
  • Experience in sophisticated quantitative techniques and methods, statistics, econometrics including probability, linear regression, time series data analysis and optimizations.
  • Experience building community, standards development, and propagating excellence.
  • Leads a robust team that apply advanced analytics and quantitative concepts to support investment needs and develop scalable solutions.
  • Leads the implementation of a research project through the entire software development lifecycle applying a full-stack implementation.
  • Leads a highly adaptable team that handles engineering critical issues from the day to day rigors of an operationally critical analytic environment.
  • Adding scale, engineering discipline, and repeatability to research through software development best practices.
  • Collaborate with senior leaders in AM Tech to propagate best practice to ensure the culture and practices continue to support attraction, retention, and development of talent.

Asset Management Technology (AMT) provides worldwide technology and support to all the Investment Management, Research, Trading, and Investment Operations functions.

Common Risk Platform team is part of Quantitative Research Investing Technology under Asset Management Technology.
