General Duties:

The Program Manager II has overall responsibility for accomplishment of successful projects. They ensure the project meets the requirements of the customer and business as defined in the approved Project Management Plan.

Essential Job Functions:

  • Responsibility for delivery of the program to cost and schedule
  • Responsible for the forecasting of cost and schedule
  • Generation of the Project Management Plan (PMP) highlighting the Scope, CDRLs and reporting plan, Risks and mitigation plan, project accounting and milestones
  • Ability to develop project plans, dependencies, and task functional organizations to implement the plan.
  • Possesses demonstrated program leadership of functional management and project teams.
  • Ability to manage a large program for a single customer that requires coordination of program requirements among several subcontractors or manages several smaller programs for multiple customers that require coordination of program requirements among several subcontractors.
  • With appropriate experience, could act as the lead Program Manager where other managers are assigned.
  • Contributes and provides input to Business Development in support of proposal or related sales activity.
  • Provides monthly update summary to Executive Management Team including, Project Summary Report and narrative highlighting deviation in budget, changes in forecast costs at completion, including variance from previous month, deviation to schedule and milestone payments, deviance from accounting profile and Customer satisfaction/concerns.
  • Provide monthly (or as contractually required) report(s) in support of customer reporting requirements.

Skills and Experiences:

  • 6 or more years of technical experience preferred.
  • 3 or more years' experience managing engineering design or aircraft maintenance and installation projects.
  • Demonstrates excellent interpersonal & communication skills-both written and oral skills
  • Have experience preparing and maintaining program schedules using scheduling software (e.g. MS Project)
  • Experience with Microsoft Office Applications and other computer-based software such as JDE Enterprise One, or other production/design software.
  • Strong analytical skills and detail oriented

Education:

  • Typically requires Bachelor of Science degree in technical or equivalent business discipline. This requirement can be waived by the VP of Operations if the project manager has clearly demonstrated performance though project management experience.
  • Project Management Institute (PMI) Project Management Professional (PMP) is preferred.

Sedentary work involves sitting most of the time. The employee is occasionally required to climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl. The employee may occasionally lift and move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and move objects up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
