Job Summary:

The Value Stream FBE Class Leader is a General Manager role, responsible for the overall coordination, planning, implementation, execution, and completion of Live Outage across the FBE Class technology platform. The role is accountable for success of the overall Live Outage program across FBE class technology, including value stream management, execution & implementation, methods, standards, and productivity & sustainment.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Lead the global value stream for FBE Class Gas Turbine technology, including Live Outage Program implementation and sustainment across the FBE Class platform
  • Lead and deliver all operating metrics as it relates to global field execution (Safety, Quality, Cycle Time, Cost, resource efficiency, etc.) as a part of Live Outage for the FBE Class technology platform
  • Perform the successful execution of the Gas Power Live Outage strategy & execution, including targets set for cycle time and cost reduction for the FBE Class technology platform
  • Partner with Gas Power senior leadership for thoughtful development of FBE Class value stream strategy, for field execution on FBE Class technology, including updates to senior leaders on FBE Class value stream programs
  • See around corners, plan scenarios, and stay ahead on long term market trends and dynamics
  • Own and monitor the overall program budget for Live Outage for the FBE Class Value Stream, partnering with relevant business GM's (Sourcing, Finance, Tooling, Operations, IT) to ensure proper cost tracking & management
  • Own the overall Live Outage program cost target for FBE Class technology and manage, track, and deliver on action plans with Region GMs & other Value Stream Leaders.
  • Participate in all FBE Class technology related Obeya Rooms to ensure progress and support issue resolution, and eliminating risks to the overall progress from Live Outage "Go Live" through sustainment
  • Work directly with Value Stream Projects Leader to ensure proper transition from content creation and pilot launch, actual go live
  • Identify solutions to FBE Class value stream problems by searching across regions, across GE businesses, and industry at large
  • Support continuous improvement of Kaizens as related to material flow (capital parts), as well as tooling and outage sequencing, for FBE Class technology
  • Own and deliver any content presentation material related to FBE Class Technology, including Leadership Obeya agendas, TTI measurement, Leadership status updates and all MoM related to project meetings
  • Lead & support team members who partner with the Project Controls CoE to ensure the build out of the hours tracking dashboard. Work to ensure proper tracking of PO1-2 Live Outage hours assumptions are built into the outage schedule for FBE class technology outages
  • Manage the Site Implementation Matrix to ensure accuracy of outage-by-outage phases in of all cost/hours initiatives
  • Ensure clarity in project SOW and resulting plans communicated via outage turnover packages
  • Drive accurate invoicing and timely project closeout working with finance, billing, and business operations teams
  • Must be able to travel domestic & international
  • Ability and willingness to work holidays, weekends, and overtime as required by field assignments
  • May be assigned other duties to help proactively drive our FieldCore vision, and support customers in alignment with our organization's core values.

Required Qualifications & Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent in related field
  • 10 years of combined experience in a variety of business areas such as operations, quality, lean, field services, engineering, product management, project/program management, or other related fields
  • 5 years of global or regional senior leadership experience, leading matrix and direct teams of employees
  • 5 years of experience in the power generation industry, with steam, gas, wind, and/or generator technology.
  • English proficiency required

Desired Characteristics:

  • Master's degree or equivalent in related field
  • Bilingual language proficiency
  • 15 years of combined experience in a variety of business areas such as operations, quality, lean, field services, engineering, product management, project/program management, or other related fields
  • Excellent communication and management skills
  • Technical troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
  • Skills in budgeting, scheduling, and task/cost optimization; Office/Primavera/Project preferred
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with minimal direction
  • Strong knowledge of power generation field operations and services, and awareness of current portfolio of GE power equipment (gas turbine, steam turbine, generator, controls, aero turbines)
  • Business savviness and strong financial acumen
  • Prior experience leading a global organization or region organization
  • Outcomes-focused for customer service; ability to drive efficiency & standardization into processes
  • Lean mindset, driving a culture of standard work, daily management, continuous improvement, etc. Drive Hoshin Kanri application in daily management and operating rigor
  • Ability to work in a matrix environment, influence and motivate diverse teams to achieve a unified goal
  • Strong interpersonal skills. Ability to interface effectively with all levels of the organization, as well as external organizations
