Job Summary:

We are currently seeking a dynamic Traveling Project Manager to join our team, based in Wilmington, NC, with travel required to various project sites across different locations. As a Traveling Project Manager, you will play a critical role in overseeing and managing construction projects in diverse geographic regions. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership abilities, excellent communication skills, and a willingness to travel extensively, along with the flexibility to adjust as the job evolves. Client relations and budget management are of paramount importance in this role, as you will be responsible for fostering positive relationships with clients and ensuring projects are completed within budgetary constraints.

Responsibilities:

1.Project Oversight: Manage all aspects of construction projects, including planning, scheduling,and resource allocation, at various project sites.

2.Budget Management: Develop, monitor, and maintain project budgets, ensuring that expensesare tracked, controlled, and kept within budgetary constraints.

3.Team Leadership: Lead and coordinate teams of construction professionals, includingcontractors, subcontractors, and vendors, to ensure that project goals are met.

4.Client Relations: Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with clients, ensuring their needsand expectations are met throughout the project lifecycle. Provide regular updates and address anyconcerns or issues promptly.

5.Risk Management: Identify potential risks associated with each project and develop strategies tomitigate them, ensuring that projects are completed safely and in compliance with all relevantregulations.

6.Collaboration: Work closely with clients, architects, engineers, and other stakeholders to ensurethat project requirements are met and expectations are exceeded.

7. Challenging Builds: Manage complex construction projects, including those involving specialized materials or techniques, and ensure that they are completed to the highest standards of quality.

8. Travel: Travel to various project sites as required, which may involve extended stays away from home.

9. Microsoft Office Proficiency: Utilize Microsoft Office suite, including Excel, Word, and Project, to create project plans, track progress, manage budgets, and communicate with stakeholders.

Required Skills/Abilities:

1. Proven experience as a Project Manager in the construction industry, with a strong background in project management principles and practices.

2. Excellent leadership and team-building skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire team members to achieve project goals.

3. Strong organizational and time-management abilities, with the capability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.

4. Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to effectively communicate with clients, team members, and stakeholders at all levels.

5. Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite, including Excel, Word, and Project.

6. Willingness to travel extensively and work on-site at various project locations.

7. Flexibility and adaptability to adjust as the job evolves.

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in related field, which may include Computer Science, Business, or Engineering, required.
  • At least three years of related experience required.
  • PMP, PgMP, CAPM, and/or comparable project management certifications are highly desirable.

Physical Requirements:

  • Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.
