Job Summary
The Compensation Analyst will be responsible for leading the research and creation of pay practices for Bedrock, the parent company at Filson. This role will evaluate job positions, ensure the company is competitive in the areas of salary, partner with HRBP to teach hiring managers about pay practices and stay knowledgeable on local, state & federal pay requirements.
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Lead the project of defining and maintaining job classifications and salary scales.
- Benchmark jobs against survey data and other market intelligence to determine competitive compensation ranges for each position.
- Assess jobs and their respective duties to determine classification as exempt or nonexempt and appropriate salary range.
- Interview and survey employees and managers to gather and document job, organizational, and occupational information including duties, responsibilities, and skills required by each job.
- Prepare and presents summary reports of job analysis and compensation analysis information.
- Partner with the HR Business Partners to evaluate and implement job analysis tools and materials.
- Conduct focus groups to collect employee feedback on specific issues or topics related to benefits and compensation.
- Gather data from market-based compensation surveys; use spreadsheet and data analysis techniques to assess results and market trends.
- Conduct data and cost analyses to be used in employee negotiations and collective bargaining agreements.
- Advise management on applicable state and federal employment regulations, benefits and compensation policies, human resource procedures, and collective agreements.
Required Skills/Abilities:
- Extensive knowledge of quantitative and qualitative research methods.
- Extensive knowledge of human resource laws, regulations and best practices.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or similar software.
Education, Experience & Qualifications :
- Must be at least 18 years of age
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources or related field required.
- SHRM-CP or SHRM-SCP preferred.
- Two to Four years of experience as a compensation analyst required.
Physical Requirements:
- Able to sit and work at desk and operate a computer for several hours at a time.
- Use hands and fingers to use computer
- Reach up, across, or down to retrieve resources
- See, talk, and hear
- The employee is occasionally required to stand and walk
- The employee is occasionally required to move or lift up to 10 pounds
- Specific hearing abilities required by this job include the hearing voices through telephone handsets or headsets and through general face to face conversation
- Specific vision abilities required by this job include the ability to read information on a computer screen or on a printed page
