Responsibilities:
Summary
The Buyer / Planner reports directly to the Operations Manager and is responsible for day-to-day effective buying and planning of direct and indirect material. Buyer/Planners are accountable for customer service levels and the material flow in their area of responsibility, as well as development and execution of process improvements activity. The ideal candidate will have strong attention to detail, highly organized, a sense of urgency, excellent problem solving skills, communication, and teamwork skills. Success will be measured through tracked results in the areas of, On Time Delivery, inventory turns, cost savings and supplier performance. Success will also be measured by the individual’s ability to develop and implement well planned and creative commodity plans and material flow process improvements.
Responsibilities –
Buying (Release/reorder) of direct and indirect materials required for assembly in the designated areas of responsibility-
Planning (production scheduling) efficiently planning of sales order to facilitate flow in responsible areas in order of their priority, taking into considerations the resources & capacity available.
- Inventory management activities including inventory accuracy by proper inventory transactions and periodic cycle counts.
- Achieve inventory reduction goals.
- Support 97% on-time delivery to customer request dates.
- Ensures high quality products and OTD from suppliers.
- Supports Accounting Department with payments and invoice discrepancies in his / her areas of responsibility. Also ensure compliance with company DPO goals.
- Works to improve and develop the supply chain in conjunction with our strategic goals.
