Responsibilities

Position Summary:

The purpose of this position is to Design filters to customer’s specs using design for manufacturing techniques while staying within customer cost restraints.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Maintain a clean and safe working environment in line with company policies
• Establish project requirements with sales and customers
• Establish current manufacturing methods with manufacturing
• Design new manufacturing methods with manufacturing
• Building and testing sample filters
• Works with purchasing to spec and coordinate raw materials
• Set up project costs with costing department
• Fulfill all packaging requirements by working with vendors
• Create quality requirements with Quality control
• Work with all departments to guide and troubleshoot new product startups
• Regular testing of existing products to ensure compliance to claims
• Look for opportunities to take cost out of existing products through design, materials and processes.

Qualifications

Qualifications & Experience:

• BS in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent experience
• AutoCAD (Inventor or other 3D CAD experience a plus)
• Knowledge of spreadsheets (preferably Excel)
• Ability to handle multiple projects
• Strong oral and written communication skills and interpersonal skills
• Must be willing to travel periodically
• Project management skills (preferred)
• Plastic injection molded part design (preferred)
• Basic understanding of air filtration (preferred)
