About the Opportunity:

Communications and Marketing Manager

FIND Outdoors is seeking a dynamic and experienced communications and marketing professional to join our team as the Communications and Marketing Manager. This role will be a key member of our team, responsible for shaping and implementing our communication and marketing strategies. This position will work with the Headquarters team to support all FIND sites and serve FIND Outdoors, its brand and visitors with respect, dignity, and inclusivity. This position will be held to a high standard for customer service, employee, and community relations. This position reports to the President and CEO.

Duties/Responsibilities:

1. Develop and implement a comprehensive social media and communications plan, including strategies for our FIND E-Newsletter, website, social media platforms, media, and press releases.

2. Help manage, create, and support internal communication strategies and policies.

3. Manage the FIND Outdoors’ website with timely updates.

4. Create and maintain relationships with local, regional, and national media outlets.

5. Coordinate press releases and media opportunities around FIND events, sites, and community engagement opportunities.

6. Support FIND team in writing grant applications.

7. Promote FIND’s programs to community leaders, service groups, partners, media, and the public.

8. Support FIND Team with events and community engagement opportunities.

9. Respond to customer and community questions/complaints through the website, Google Reviews, and the info@gofindoutdoors.org email.

10. Work with the Operations Team to ensure operating dates/times are provided and updated for the public on all platforms.

11. Manage all FIND site signage.

12. Ability to work collaboratively with diverse teams, community partners, and stakeholders.

• Respond to all communication both internal and external in a timely and professional manner.

Qualifications:

1. Ability to provide examples of communications and marketing work.

2. Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

3. High knowledge of websites, social media platforms, content management systems, project management, and email marketing tools.

4. Ability to create marketing content such as flyers, graphics, invitations, quality photos, and the use of FIND branded tools.

5. Experience using Microsoft tools, Canva, and Adobe software.

6. Ability to work collaboratively with diverse teams, community partners, and stakeholders.

Education and Experience:

1. Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Marketing, Business Administration, or related field.

2. Minimum of 3 years of experience in communications management, public relations, marketing, or related field.

Working Environment

• Regular work hours are 8:30 am to 5:00 pm at the FIND Headquarters Office in Pisgah Forest, NC.
• Evenings, weekends, and travel will be required as needed.
• Lift and move boxes, carton, or tubs weighing up to 40 lbs.
• This is a full-time 40 hour per week, non-exempt, hourly paid position.

FIND Outdoors serves over 800,000 visitors each year with over 150 educational and recreational programs, special events, and tours, and manages 15 recreation, education, and camping facilities in North Carolina, and Georgia. In addition, FIND offers our visitors forest- related gifts, education resources, and provides partnership opportunities for the health of out forests and the safety of our forest users on public and private lands.

NOTE: position has a 90-day probationary period with an option to extend.

Hourly Rate Range: $22.50 - $25.00 an hour

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $22.50 - $25.00 per hour
