What are the responsibilities and job description for the Traditional Camp Site Supervisor position at Findlay Family YMCA?
POSITION SUMMARY:
The Traditional Camp Site Supervisor must be able to lead and actively participate in helping counselors in planning the weeks’ worth of activities for campers. They must be able to effectively monitor behavior while using appropriate discipline techniques and develop age-appropriate activities. This position is responsible for helping to maintain a safe, clean summer program site; ensuring a high level of program quality and working to establish a positive relationship with all program participants, their families, and staff. The Lead Day Camp Counselor will provide a positive role model to counselors within the philosophy of YMCA standards and expectations. .

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Prior to Summer Camps:
- Set-up schedules for counselors, transportation, and campers
- Set-up the site in coordination with the Director
- Communicate with counselors assigned to the Summer Camp at your location
- Communicate with campers and families attending Summer Camp at your location
- Other duties as assigned
the Summer Camps:
- Support counselors with developing and implementing the summer camp plans
- Give feedback and guidance to counselors
- Ensure disciplinary procedures with counselors and campers are being followed
- Communicate with necessary stakeholders as necessary and required (parents, counselors, campers, transportation.)
- Monitor camper arrival and pickup
- Ensure staffing coverage is in place for staff absences
- Maintain accurate records as required
- Other duties as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS:
- Two or more years of college; working towards a degree in education, social work, or recreation management
- Previous experience working with children preferably in an outdoor setting
- At least 21 years of age
- CPR, First Aid, AED certifications and Child Abuse Prevention training within 30 days of hire date.
- Previous experience with diverse populations preferred.
- Willing and able to obtain and maintain current Lifeguarding Certification.

Salary : $24,900 - $31,600
