Findon & Associates is seeking detail-oriented and experienced Accountant to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in financial concepts, accounting principles, and financial management. This position is responsible for performing a variety of bookkeeping, accounting, payroll, and administrative tasks, including but not limited to:
· Tracks and maintains general ledger accounts to produce monthly profit & loss and balance sheet activity for a variety of clients
· Complete and review monthly account reconciliations for all bank and credit cards, including resolving various accounting/reconciliation issues
· Responsible for maintaining payroll information by collating, calculating, and entering data for multiple clients
· Updating payroll records by entering any changes to employee information or benefits such as salary increases, retirement contributions, or other employee benefits
· Works with onboarding new clients and setting up in company software
· Resolving accounting and payroll discrepancies and answering any client inquiries
· Utilize technical accounting skills to analyze financial data and prepare reports.
· Manage accounts payable and capture data in accounting records
· Assist in the preparation and filing of sales tax returns
· Preparation and processing of filing quarterly payroll tax returns, issuing W-2’s, and assisting with Form 1099 preparation
· Manage mailbox, including but not limited to scanning files and resolving incoming mail items
Qualifications:
· Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance
· Strong oral and written communication skills with the ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams
· Ability to successfully handle numerous priorities in a fast-paced environment
· Great attention to detail with a high focus on accuracy of results
· Ability to quickly learn new processes, analyzes, and identifies opportunities for improvement
· Skilled in Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook
· Critical, analytical, and creative thinking to identify and solve problems
· Knowledge of Thomson Reuters Accounting & Payroll software is a plus
