We are looking for passionate, detail oriented, hardworking individuals to assist in our medical cannabis extraction lab. Previous experience in Cannabis and Scientific background is preferred but not required as we are willing to train the right candidates. The main role of this position is working with the Extraction Manager to create high quality cannabis concentrates, cartridges, and other infused products in a highly regulated environment while always putting safety first. This job is very fast paced and physically demanding, requiring constant standing, crouching, bending, and lifting. Daily Duties and Responsibilities:
Preparation of biomass for hydrocarbon extraction process.
Carry out all extraction, extract processing, product formulation, cartridge filling, and manufacturing procedures including equipment set up and breakdown in an efficient manner that also complies with State Regulations.
Perform duties in a safe manner and environment while adhering to all governmental regulations, and company policies.
Proper weighing, data recording, and batch tracking throughout the extraction process.
Inventory tracking of supplies, consumables, spare parts etc
Packaging various types and weights of cannabis products.
Maintain a clean and orderly workspace, cleaning and organizing the workspace on a frequent basis.
Clean, organize, and store extraction and related equipment.
Proper tracking and disposal of cannabis waste in accordance with State regulations.
Creating and continuingly updating extraction and post processing related SOPs.
Keeping up to date on current laws, regulations, and changes to operational procedure.
Working with third party Testing Labs for batch test sample analysis in compliance with CCC regulations.
Complete data entry into marijuana tracking systems including METRC.
Other duties as assigned.
Skills and qualifications:
Scientific background as well as previous laboratory experience strongly preferred.
Associate degree preferred, with relevant college courses in biology, chemistry, or physics.
Experience and background in the cannabis industry is a plus but not required.
Ability to follow and adhere to strict safety and sanitation protocols.
Ability to work independently, and collaboratively within a team environment.
Throughout extended periods must be capable of sitting, squatting, standing, kneeling, bending, or walking through the workday.
Ability to maintain a sanitary work environment.
Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment.
Comfortable working with medical cannabis and similar products.
Ability to follow all safety protocols including wearing all proper PPE.
Experience in a highly regulated industry is a plus.
Excellent communication skills with the ability to communicate with superiors and team members clearly and concisely.
Environmental Factors:
Exposure to plant particulates through skin contact and inhalation including odor, that may cause allergic reactions to some.
Exposure to compounds that may be flammable, corrosive, and hazardous.
General background noise that may be loud.
Requirements:
Must be 21
Ability to pass comprehensive Background Check
Reliable transportation to the facility with a valid driver’s license
Ability to adapt to change
Ability to cross train with other departments as needed
Ability to perform repetitive tasks
Ability to lift to 50lbs alone and 100lbs with assistance
Basic math skills
Must be and remain compliant with any and all legal or company regulations for working in the industry
