Fine Fettle is a locally owned, multi-state cannabis company that is expanding into Georgia in 2023! Our mission is to create comfort in cannabis by providing a superior, customized cannabis experience and great products to help enable customers and patients to realize cannabis' full potential to improve their lives. Fine Fettle was given a Notice of Intent to Award a license in Georgia, which allows Fine Fettle to produce low-THC oil for patients to obtain from licensed dispensaries. Our state of the art 118,000 square foot cultivation, processing, and manufacturing facility in Macon-Bibb County is currently under construction and will be an industry standard facility in the country. We also plan to open five dispensaries around Georgia later this year, with the opportunity to build more as patients of Georgia expand.


About the Role:

The Cultivation Manager is responsible for overseeing day-to-day functions of the cultivation Operation; managing all cultivation associates; ensuring all processes, SOPs, training requirements, schedules, policies, and procedures are followed; ensuring the cultivation production goals are met; and checking and verifying all harvested crops for processing, drying, trimming, COAs, packaging, labeling and dispatch. This person will ensure all products are produced to best-in-class standards, while ensuring appropriate levels of inventory are produced in the most cost-effective manner and in full compliance with all regulations.


This Cultivation Manager will work with planning to ensure appropriate forecasting and translating crop output into overall financial impact consistent with achieving the company’s annual budget. Irregular and sometimes long work hours are to be expected in an agricultural facility, including weekend and after hours work in the event of emergencies and overall need. Must be comfortable working in sometimes harsh environments with high temperatures and humidities.


What You’ll Do:


  • Responsible for managing cultivation staff, schedules, cultivation processes.
  • Serves as a role-model and resource for cultivation staff concerning products and services, policies and procedures, industry news, and changes in regulations.
  • Responds to all associates questions, concerns, or suggestions and acts, when necessary, to resolve conflicts.
  • Responsible for delegating tasks to cultivation staff to maintain a compliant and clean cultivation facility.
  • Execute strategy by establishing clear goals and metrics for the operational teams aligned to corporate financial goals to produce high quality products with increased efficiency and profitability.
  • Develop metrics for Safety, Quality, Delivery, Cost and Productivity and align team objectives to improve performance.
  • Recruit, train, develop, and retain new and current staff. Motivate and coach team members to achieve their best and create an engaged culture in continuous improvement.
  • This position is responsible for the P L of the Cultivation Division and requires close coordination with Sales and Manufacturing to ensure product availability at desired cost.
  • Oversees all cultivation tasks and processes, ensures proper documentation of all applicable activities in accordance with the policies and standards.
  • Oversee all end-to-end cultivation processes, including managing weekly crop production task planning and execution, as well as post-harvest production activities.
  • Manage weekly crop production task planning and execution to include activities such as, mother stock maintenance; propagation; vegetative growth and flower induction; flower growth; harvest, dry and cure; and integrated pest management (IPM) program.
  • Measure crop output against quantitative metrics with a focus on continuously improving quality and quantity of crop output measured on a square foot of canopy basis.
  • Manage inventory, including controlled substances, to ensure no disruptions to operations while minimizing capital utilization.
  • Ensure that the cultivation division adheres to all state regulatory compliance standards and maintains proper documentation.
  • Responsible for the continuous improvements of all Process Flow Maps, SOPs and ensuring they are practiced and enforced throughout the operations.
  • Work with the supply chain team to ensure efficient levels of all cultivation inputs and supplies.
  • Evaluate and assess baseline nutrient mixes to maximize plant health and ensure proper application within the cultivation.
  • Ensure optimal plant health by pruning, toping, trimming, trellising, analyzing plant health
  • Manage and Maintain Mother Crops and all propagation activities.
  • Maintain accurate records of all cultivation activities including employee records, inventory records, crop application records, materials receipt, returns, etc.
  • Communicate with the leadership team on any cultivation developments that could affect fiscal or operational performance.
  • Other duties may be assigned.

Who You Are:

  • Bachelor’s Degree (BA, BS) in Plant Biology, Physiology, Biological Sciences, Agricultural Sciences, or related major.
  • Prior experience working at MSOs or Cannabis company overseeing indoor Cultivation.
  • Experience with Argus controls or similar systems should be in qualifications and the responsibilities should include the management and monitoring of environmental and irrigation control systems.
  • 5 years of experience in a position with managerial responsibilities
  • Experience using ERP/SAP or state mandated seed to sale tracking system
  • Experience managing large-scale cultivation operation with a clean history of compliance
  • Demonstrated knowledge and understating of plant nutrition and management
  • Demonstrated knowledge of IPM and use of biological treatment for pests & diseases
  • Advanced knowledge of plant cultivation and cultivation facility operations
  • Firsthand experience in day-to-day use and management of irrigation and environmental climate control software systems
  • Strong proficiency in MS Office and the ability to digitally communicate data
  • Experience in a position requiring critical-thinking, problem-solving, planning and assessment
  • Excellent communication skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, changing, and challenging environment
