Resource Management sits at the intersection of client teams, discipline teams, and Operations.
The Resource Management lead works across all Advertising offices playing an integral role in managing and supporting all internal resource management operations across the agency. This role develops and implements plans that provide the organization the necessary resources to achieve strategic goals while maximizing staff allocation and utilization.
· Resource Management Capability Lead Duties:
Oversee resource planning process to appropriately balance supply/demand (working closely with ops leads from each ad office)
- Workforce sizing/mix/composition according to types of work
- Skill requirements
- Attrition – voluntary and involuntary
- Borrowing/loaning between agencies across Advertising offices and partner organizations (such as LBB, 1798, etc.)
Oversee ongoing resource and workforce management, including:
- Establish appropriate resource management targets
- Establish reporting and monitoring requirements
- Resource forecasting
- Provide Resource Management process, template, and SOP update recommendations to Leadership
- Responsible for management of all Resource Managers including acting as an escalation point for any concerns
- Partner with finance to understand revenue forecast and client margins to forecast staffing needs and identify potential areas with capacity
Ongoing Staff Planning for all Office Duties:
- Maintain and update resourcing model for use across all Advertising offices
- Partner closely with Operational Leads to understand the flow of work and ensure accurate staffing levels across all Advertising offices; monthly review of brand staff plans
- Collaborate with Resource Managers and Operations Leads from each office on monthly freelance budget roll-up for all Advertising offices
- Establish relationships with Capability Leads across offices to assist with Staffing discussions and decisions, forecast pipelined demand to drive productivity
- Partners with Capability Leads, Finance and Recruiting on full-time hiring decisions and promotion requirements
- Works with Resource Managers across offices to proactively limit capacity and identify resource sharing opportunities
- Develop a thorough understanding of resource skill sets to make optimal staffing recommendations
Relationship Ownership
- Own Staffing Agency relationships and MSA contract negotiations
- Partner with Recruiting team on Staffing updates, needs and resource sharing opportunities including supporting each other when needed
- Establish and maintain strong and trusted partnerships with Capability and Operations Leads for all Advertising offices
- Be a leader and advocate of collaboration and problem-solving
RM Team Management
- Act as an advisor to RM team, cultivating skill sets and growing team, as needed
- Adjust approaches to RM team staffing, process, and tools, as company needs shift
- Identify and implement scalable approaches to accommodating constantly changing business landscape (acquisitions, staff growth, revenue growth, etc.)
- Empower and motivate team through growth and change
