Assists in the financial preparation, budgeting, and planning processes
- Coordinates grant information and reports for the County Administrator; maintains grant documents in accordance with requirements.
- Assist with annual budget examination and preparation.
- Assist in financial review of monthly A/P, GL and year-end review.
- Assist in development of financial policies and procedures.
- Assist in developing monthly KMAG financial statements.
- Offer additional financial support as needed.

Process payroll
- Maintain system setup, security, updating, and verification of county payroll records; assist with and/or complete payroll processing, process payroll warrants and direct deposits. Maintain all information for auditors.
- Assist with maintaining information for Federal Tax Deposit coupon and electronically filing returns, Kansas Employer’s Withholding Tax, and prepare quarterly and annual reporting to included W2 and 1095.
- Verify deduction information for each employee and process payments and deductions for the flexible benefits plan, KPERS, taxes, garnishments, and other miscellaneous deductions; reconcile as needed.
- Offer additional HR support as needed.

Performs clerical duties, assists with administrative tasks, and performs support functions as needed
- Complete administrative and clerical tasks as needed, establishing, and maintaining filing systems.
- Complete reports as required.
- Complete A/P processing for the Administration Office.
- Works independently and within a team on special nonrecurring and ongoing projects.

- Assist with tracking training and credentials for all staff
- Assist with equipment assigning and tracking with all staff
- Offer additional support as needed.

- Excellent verbal and written English language skills.

- Proficient in basic computer systems and software (e.g. email, timekeeping software, work order inputs, video/audio conference calling)
- Proficient in advanced mathematical functions including accounting, bookkeeping, and payroll.
- Proficiency in clerical procedures, systems, and tools such as recordkeeping, filing, copier, scanner, 10 key, etc.
- Ability to keep information confidential.
- Ability to work independently without supervision and uses own judgment in determining priorities and procedures used, obtaining assistance in new or unusual situations.
- Ability to analyze situations quickly and objectively and to determine a proper course of action to be taken consistent with established policies and procedures.
- Knowledge of laws, interpretations, government regulations, pertaining to payroll processing.
- Knowledge of payroll processing software programs.
- Valid Driver’s license
- Ability to obtain CPR certification
- Ability to obtain First Aid certification
- Ability to obtain Defensive Driving certificate
- American Payroll certification – preferred

This position is responsible for processing bi-weekly payroll and assisting the Finance Director and County Administrator in managing, processing, and troubleshooting various accounts and transactions including but not limited to A/P, GL, projections, and interdepartmental spending. This position is a shared position under the general supervision of the Finance Director and Director of Human Resource.

Pay: $20.25 - $31.47 per hour
