A DAY IN THE LIFE OF A COMMERCIAL CONSTRUCTION SHOP & QC FOREMAN
As a Shop & QC Foreman at Fiorilli Construction, your day starts with planning and coordination. You review the schedule, check emails for updates from the General Superintendent or project superintendents, and ensure all safety gear and equipment are ready.
You manage team activities, holding meetings to discuss objectives, prioritize tasks, and assign responsibilities. Reviewing blueprints and project plans, you determine material needs and estimate costs. Coordination with superintendents ensures alignment on quality standards and timelines.
On-site supervision and quality control are key parts of your role. You visit job sites to oversee project quality, step in as a backup for Superintendents, and conduct inspections to ensure adherence to quality standards and safety regulations. You identify issues and implement solutions for new constructions and repairs, manage material and tool requisition, and ensure tools and equipment are well-maintained and logged in inventory records.
You direct and prioritize tasks to minimize production delays, leading skilled tradesmen in completing punch list items with high workmanship standards. For warranty issues, you analyze problems, develop action plans, and supervise repairs to meet client satisfaction. Additionally, you oversee the maintenance and organization of the warehouse/shop, manage inventory, and ensure company vehicles are in top condition.
You compile reports on daily activities and project progress, communicate with the General Superintendent, and review the next day's schedule. Ensuring the shop and office areas are clean and organized, you prepare for the next day.

Qualifications For a Commercial Construction Shop & Qc Foreman
- 2-3 years of experience working in a large-scale professional commercial construction environment is preferred.
- Experience in carpentry, metal studs, acoustical ceilings, flooring, and general trades.
- Strong leadership and supervision skills
- In-depth knowledge of construction processes, tools, and equipment
- Ability to manage material, tool, and equipment inventory.
- Proficiency in maintaining company vehicles and shop facilities.
- Familiarity with OSHA and safety regulations
- Ability to travel and manage multiple projects as required.
- Experience with EOS Worldwide principles is preferred.
