Responsibilities

We are seeking a full-time Fire Suppression Inspector to join our growing team. The ideal candidate will play a key role in delivering on our service promise to our customers and mentoring our team members. The candidate will be pivotal in ensuring that our customers fire protection and backflow systems are up to code, inspected, tested and repaired as needed.

General Duties

  • Service, troubleshoot and install wet and dry fixed fire suppression systems from a variety of manufacturers, including Badger, Range Guard, Buckeye, and Pyro-Chem, etc.,
  • Perform service and repairs of fixed fire suppression systems, and fire extinguishers as may be needed
  • Read and interpret blueprints, diagrams, submittals, specifications, schematics, and operational product manuals to assist customers in the installation and/or repair of fire and/or backflow systems
  • Test and inspect pre-engineered fire suppression systems & portable fire extinguishers, following applicable codes, and based on contract requirements
  • Inspection of fire extinguishers in accordance with NFPA 10 and fixed extinguishing systems NFPA 17-17A and UL 300
  • Perform on-site emergency troubleshooting and repairs as needed
  • Prepare accurate and timely service tickets and reports for customer and local fire-marshal’s
  • Develop and maintain good relationships with customers with the desire of delivering stellar service
  • Consult and advise customers regarding potential safety issues
  • Other general duties and responsibilities as may be assigned

Ideal Candidates Requirements

  • 5 years of experience in some combination wet and dry fixed fire suppression systems and fire extinguishers
  • Knowledge of fire systems and tools
  • Proficient in installation/servicing of fixed fire suppression systems
  • Working Knowledge of NFPA codes, local fire codes & manufacture specifications
  • NICET I certification, a plus
  • Backflow certification, a must
  • Great attention to details and documentation precision
  • Solid verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to work independently with little supervision
  • Able to work in unusual and sometimes difficult positions – climbing ladders multiple times per day, scaffolding and high lift equipment up to 40 feet, working within ducts, crawl spaces, above ceilings, etc.
  • Carry, move tools and equipment weighing up to 50 pounds
  • Oregon Fire Extinguisher and Fixed Fire Suppression Certification of Fitness, a must
  • ICC certification, a plus
  • Clean driving record

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $25.00 - $45.00 per hour

Experience:

  • Fire Systems (Kitchen, Sprinklers - Wet/Dry) Service: 3 years (Preferred)

License/Certification:

  • WA Sprinkler certification (Preferred)
  • OR Sprinkler/Systems Certification (Preferred)
  • Driver's License (Required)
