Tax Services & Bookkeeping Associate - Remote

This is a remote position.

Currently, we have an immediate opening for a Tax Services & Bookkeeping Associate to join our team! The Tax Services & Bookkeeping Associate is responsible for providing accounting and tax services to our business and individual members.  This position will utilize financial documents as well as inquiry and analysis to perform monthly bookkeeping for members.  The position will also assist in tax preparation for members.

Primary Responsibilities: 

• Overseeing tax engagements to ensure tax returns are accurate and completed in a timely manner.
• Understanding the member’s tax situation to prepare returns based on source documents provided by the member while adhering to federal, state, local and other rules/regulations.
• Preparing payroll which includes but is not limited to entering data for clients using third-party payroll platforms.
• Reconciling bank, credit card, and loan statements from various financial institutions to maintain accurate balances.
• Integrating various apps (e.g. QuickBooks Online) to ensure all records are included in the accounting records.
• Coding income, expenses, account receivables & account payables to ensure accounting records are complete and accurate.
• Identifying products and services that may meet members’ short and long-term financial needs and completing a soft hand off to the appropriate department to assist the member.

Basic Qualifications:

• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field
• Certification: PTIN and CTEC (California preparers)
• Experience with monthly bookkeeping and payroll for multiple clients
• Experience preparing income tax returns, 1040, 1120-S & 1065 
• Experience with QuickBooks Online
• Experience with Ultra Tax software.
• Understanding of GAAP
• Understanding and working knowledge of the US Tax Code and California Tax Code.
