Job Description

Job Overview:

The Director of Development is responsible for managing activities related to the analysis, planning, execution, control, and evaluation of revenue-generating strategies as it relates to fundraising. Works closely with the Development Committee of Board of Directors, as well as CEO and select executive staff members for all fundraising programs designed to support and grow the mission of Firefly Autism. Serves as a thought leader to plan and execute every aspect of Firefly Autism’s development. Build strong donor and community relations to enhance diversified funding streams. Serve as a member of the senior leadership team providing input into the strategic direction of the organization.

Essential Skills and Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s or graduate degree from an accredited college/university
  • At least three years of fundraising program development and implementation experience in nonprofit realm
  • Demonstrates critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
  • Demonstrates creative and innovative thinking.
  • Computer literacy.
  • Demonstrates excellent time management and organizational skills.
  • Demonstrates ongoing professional development to drive Firefly Autism’s mission.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and a collaborative management style.
  • Demonstrates an awareness and understanding of nonprofit businesses culture.
  • Exceptional customer service, program development and marketing skills.
  • Able to exercise independent judgment and support program philosophy.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Knowledge surrounding autism spectrum disorder and/or other neurodivergent conditions.

Salary Range:

$78,000 - $80,000
