What are the responsibilities and job description for the Maintenance Planner position at Firestone Building Products?
Overview
This role will be able to utilize the CMMS system, including planning work orders, requisitioning parts, materials, or external support as needed. Also schedules work orders by priority and balances the work across each shift. Works closely with the Maintenance Manager and operations leadership to coordinate work at scheduled times, is also responsible for work orders within the CMMS system. Works closely with engineering and project managers to schedule support for projects. Coordinates contract work being performed on site, and approves the work being performed. A successful candidate must be willing to work a flexible schedule and can work within a group setting or alone. Both written and verbal communication skills are key for this role.
Responsibilities
- Effectively utilizes the CMMS system to plan work orders, requisition parts, materials, and external support. Runs reports and assures system maintains accurate information.
- Prepares a detailed plan for outages, which includes all work that will be performed, estimated time and date of completion, manpower required, and routine updates to schedule compliance.
- Manages projects as needed and may be called upon to supervise maintenance teammates.
- Contributes in planning and coordination of maintenance engineering work, including review of mechanical and electrical engineering specifications
- Performs engineering review of proposed new equipment designs to assess reliability, ease of maintenance, and availability of replacement parts
- Liaises with production staff to coordinate repair work, statutory safety inspections and supply of new plant and equipment with production schedules
- Participates in the installation and commissioning of new equipment
- Supports continuous improvement/automation activities
- Could require offsite training and may be called upon to lead onsite training topics.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Two or more years' experience in a Multi-Craft Maintenance position or five or more years' experience in a Maintenance Mechanical or Electrical position.
- Must be a team player with good work ethics.
- Must be self-motivated with the ability to work with minimal guidance.
- Must be willing and capable of taking ownership within an assigned area.
- Good understanding and application of reliability fundamentals.
- Planned, Predictive, & Preventive maintenance understanding.
- Experience using a CMMS within a maintenance operation.
- Microsoft Office suite experience.
- Ability to prioritize work based on plant's needs.
- Analyze equipment work history and make recommendations as needed.
Preferred:
- Experience as a Maintenance Planner or Supervisor or
Two-year Technical Degree associated with Maintenance
