What are the responsibilities and job description for the MRO Buyer position at Firmenich Inc?
Key Responsibilities:
* Place Purchase Orders in SRM for all parts, services and supplies as needed for maintenance, operations and sanitation. Communicate purchase orders to the appropriate vendor or supplier. Get quotes for all parts needed and ensure Firmenich is getting the best price for the material needed.
* Ensure use of proper purchasing procedures as per Firmenich guidelines. These include issuing a PO prior to ordering a part or service, timely receipt and disposition of invoices, getting competitive bids when appropriate, ensuring conflicts of interests and other ethical problems are avoided and PO overages are explained and approved.
* Work with corporate on national contracts and work with engineers on project purchases, obtaining bids and writing contracts. Sets up new vendors in the system and maintains the proper records for existing vendors. Maintains equipment data, maintenance and sanitation files.
* Ensure adherence to all management systems including, ISO 9001:2015, ISO 14001 and ISO 18001 and FSSC 22000, with an understanding of Firmenich's Quality and Environmental Policies and Procedures. Responsible that these policies and procedures are implemented throughout the organization and all related activities under the position's jurisdiction. Strict adherence to Firlouis safety, good manufacturing practices, and general policies and procedures.
* Set up all the Stockroom areas to ensure parts are organized, easy to find, easy to access, easy to transact and labeled. Learn, understand and maintain the CMMS database to ensure all parts are in inventory at the proper levels. Perform cycle counts as needed to ensure accurate inventory. Run a Stock Replenishment Report to determine which parts need to be purchased and order them. When parts arrive, inspect them, receive them into the system, label them and place them properly into stock. Add new parts to stock and create and update Bills of Materials for Assets based on input from Mechanics, Supervisors and Engineers.
* Remove obsolete parts from stock and update the inventory. Manage vendors for our free issue items, ensuring that they keep stocks at proper levels and make checks at the proper frequency. Managing the work order Kitting Area. Keep the Stockroom clean by performing periodic clean-ups.
We Value:
* High School Diploma, or equivalent plus two years college or equivalent work experience preferred. Experience in purchasing required.
* Experience as a maintenance planner or coordinator. Experience in food facility is preferred. Prior experience in maintenance is required.
* Good familiarity with GMP's and Food Safety Requirements.
* Must have experience with production equipment and a strong knowledge on how to maintain it.
* Knowledge of Maintenance Excellence and Reliability-Centered Maintenance (RCM) a plus.
