Description
Major Duties & Responsibilities:
Works closely with Loan Processing and Servicing.
Review commercial, real estate, consumer, and SBA loans.
Evaluates the adequacy of loan and collateral documentation.
Reviews and analyzes loans and all supporting documents for completeness and conformance with statutory regulations, policies, procedures, and practices.
Analyzes loan applicants’ financial status, credit, and property evaluation to determine granting loan prior to closing as needed.
Utilizes document exception software. Prepares and distributes monthly reports on the status of the loan exceptions.
Professionally interacts with bank management, staff, answering questions, and providing support for loan classifications or other findings and recommendations.
Ensures loans are closed and funded in accordance with the loan approval, and to ensure that all supporting loan documentation is in the file and properly executed.
Suggest changes to the loan review process.
Participate in loan review function of annual loan review, internal audit, and regulatory examination.
Perform all other duties as required, consistent with the goals, objectives, and responsibilities of the review function.
Qualifications
Education & Experience:
Minimum of 5 years of loan review experience or comparable training.
Knowledge of CFPB regulations required.
Knowledge of HMDA, flood regulations, appraisals, and SBA loans.
Extensive knowledge of all financial institution policies and procedures
Excellent analytical skills, including the ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Ability to review and analyze mid to large size commercial loans of low to high complexity.
Ability to accurately calculate simple to complex financial calculations.
Knowledge of loan documentation standards.
Knowledge of State and Federal banking laws and regulations.
Ability to work effectively both independently and within a team.
Ability to proficiently use Microsoft Office products and acquire other computer skills as needed.
Comprehensive knowledge of commercial real estate lending, with an emphasis on commercial development loans.
