Help Desk Specialist III
Position Purpose: Our Help Desk Specialist will assist with computer hardware and software issues. The incumbent will be required to work on-site to assist with hardware installations, software upgrades, systems integrations, and basic IT related issues.

You should have extensive knowledge of Microsoft Office 365, Intune and office systems, good problem-solving skills, and high-level interpersonal skills. A top-class Help Desk Specialist provides fast and effective support for internal staff experiencing basic hardware and software issues.

Primary Responsibilities
  • Manage and monitor all installed computer systems and infrastructure
  • Install, configure, test, and maintain operating systems, application software and system management tools
  • Provide 3rd tier support for internal staff, responding to tickets and calls
  • Liaise with vendors and other IT personnel for problem resolution
  • Deploy new offices and networks, troubleshooting details on the fly
  • Ability to drive between locations as required. (Mileage will be reimbursed from our headquarters in Renton.)
  • Successful completion of required compliance related training within prescribed timelines
  • Communicate well and fluidly using text-based forms of communication (Email, SMS, IM)
  • Some weekend on-call duties required. (You will be paid a cell phone stipend!)
  • Must be highly organized and presentable for business class clients
  • Familiar with Audio Visual systems helpful
  • Solid understanding of Change Control.
  • Experience in Banking or regulated industry a plus
  • Solid understanding of patch management with the ability to deploy patches in a timely manner while understanding business impact
  • Other duties as assigned

Competencies
  • Proven work experience as Desktop Support Engineer, Support Technician, or similar
  • Advanced knowledge of computer hardware and peripherals
  • Knowledge of popular operating systems, software applications, and remote connection systems
  • Ability to solve complex hardware and software issues
  • Ability to travel and work after hours when necessary
  • Firm grasp of DNS, DHCP, and VPN
  • Capable of deploying new offices/small networks
  • Active Directory / Group Policy configuration/manipulation
  • Microsoft Windows server/workstation administration
  • Familiarity with Desktop Central highly desirable
  • Familiarity with Sophos Central highly desirable
  • Familiarity with VMWare highly desirable
  • Capable of some minor scripting highly desirable

Preferred Education/Training
  • Bachelor’s degree OR 3 to 5 years in a fast-paced technical support role
  • All industry certifications or certificates welcome (A , Net , Security , CISSP)
