Position Summary

The Core Banking Systems Specialist will report directly to the Chief Innovation and Implementation Officer and is responsible for the development, coordination, and oversight of all aspects and activities related to the organization’s core banking system. They will manage cross-departmental initiatives with an emphasis on operational effectiveness while providing a broad and range of operational support to contribute to the success of the organization’s core banking platform.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  1. Coordinate and implement projects related to maintenance, enhancements, and updates to the organization’s core banking systems.
  2. Responsible for the development and implementation of process improvements as it relates to data quality, reporting, and functionality of core banking system.
  3. Oversee communication across the organization on system enhancements and regulatory updates.
  4. Aid in mergers/acquisitions to ensure successful data conversion and implementation.
  5. Work with Learning and Development on staff education and training of core banking system.
  6. Ensure appropriate change management approvals are met.
  7. Stay up to date on best practices and emerging technologies within the core banking system.
  8. Provide back up to other core system staff.
  9. Establish strong relationships with stakeholders across First Guaranty Bank at all levels, businesses, and locations.
  10. Perform special projects within other areas as requested.
  11. Adhere to BSA policy and all other bank policies.
  12. Other duties as assigned by supervisor.

          Minimum Qualifications

          • 5 years’ experience in Financial Services Industry.
          • In-depth understanding of core banking software, records management and imaging systems.
          • Understand the importance of data quality and how it impacts business decisions.
          • Excellent analytic and creative problem-solving skills.
          • Excellent oral and written communication skills must be articulate and persuasive.
          • Strong interpersonal skills: ability to develop peer-like relationships with senior leaders throughout an organization.
          • Ability to work as part of a team and autonomously.
          • Focused attention to detail plus ability to see the big picture.
          • Collaborative, team-oriented approach to problem solving.
          • Project and process ownership; strong time management

          • Demonstrated research and analytical abilities.
          • Strong desire to achieve excellence.
          • Experience in project management and process ownership
          • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office
          • Background and credit clearance.

          Desired Qualifications

          • Bachelor's degree or another related work experience.
