SUMMARY The Director of IT Data and Development leads the development efforts for the organization’s system and application integration projects. While some internal and client facing applications are developed, software development at First Interstate Bank most often consists of system and application integration. This includes participating in the defining and maintaining of the organizational integration and information architecture, management of Quality Assurance teams and the responsibility of the Digital Banking Environment, including CRM. In addition, the Director of IT Data and Development is responsible for defining best practices and mentoring more junior resources. This position reports to the CIO. ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES include the following: other duties may be assigned. Provides clear and confident leadership by developing an inspiring and achievable vision and plan. Moves the Bank forward in meeting its growth strategy while at the same time optimizing efficiency to meet budget expectations and other key performance indicators. Ability to take aggressive action to eliminate constraints and manage in an agile manner to enable transformation, while focusing on governance and process to ensure effective delivery. Manages the Digital Banking and CRM environments. Leads development of a system-wide integration architecture including API management and integration components. Manages a department of multiple teams including, IT Data, QA, Software Development and Integrations. Responsible for new development, as well as production support for system and application integrations, corporate website, internal web-based applications, and Salesforce. Must be able to understand Business Unit requirements and ensure effective translation to IT Systems Requirements. Ensures strict adherence to FIB’s Software Development Lifecycle, code reviews, version control, segregation of duties, and Change Control processes. Facilitates the production release of new functionality and provides support of production issues. Supports application testing, deployment, maintenance, and evolution activities by correcting programming errors, responding to scope changes, and coding application enhancements. Participates and leads formal design and code reviews as needed. Collaborates with third parties as needed for joint Development activities. Collaborates with Project Stakeholders, Senior Leadership, and the Project Management office in a manner that ensures efficient communication while meeting the needs of the business. Personnel Management responsibilities for a department that includes Managers and/or Team Leaders and experienced professionals. Ownership of short to mid-term (1-3 years) execution of functional strategy and the operational direction of the department. Problems faced are often complex and require extensive investigation and analysis. Requires the ability to influence others to accept practices and approaches, and the ability to communicate and influence Executive Leadership. EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE Bachelor’s degree (B.A.) from four-year College or University and/or a minimum of eight (8) years’ experience in Information Technology, Information Systems, and Bank Systems is required. An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered. Demonstrated experience as a high-performing and a dynamic leader with executive exposure is crucial. In-depth understanding of the Financial Institution industry standards and benchmarks are a plus. OTHER SKILLS & REQUIREMENTS Previous management experience preferred. Experience with .NET, C#, Java, Linux, Apache, MySQL, PHP, HTML, JavaScript preferred. Experience with configuring commercial-off-the-shelf applications using programming, scripting, and database languages. Ability to analyze detailed business/functional/technical requirements and specifications for the application. Strong leadership skills with a focus on communication and collaboration. Must be able to work with limited supervision. Ability prioritize workload. Project Management experience and skills are a plus. Ability to solve complex problems independently. Ability to work under pressure and with interruptions. Experience with requirements gathering and documentation. Experience with an integration development environment Ability to effectively communicate both verbally and in written format. Experience working within Agile methodologies. Ability to present materials in a clear and concise manner to all audiences, including staff, Executive Team, and the Board. LANGUAGE SKILLS Strong communication skills are critical to allow effective communication to build positive, professional relationships and to ensure a high level of employee satisfaction. Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, vendors, and internal customers. MATHEMATICAL SKILLS Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret graphs, establish trends, and forecast. REASONING ABILITY Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables. PHYSICAL DEMANDS While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to walk and talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to stand and sit.
