What are the responsibilities and job description for the Communications Director position at First Methodist Conroe?
Job Responsibilities: In this role the responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:
- A daily walk with God and Christian living.
- Finding community among us as you support the DNA that God has called First Methodist Conroe as you:
- Manage church-wide communications to facilitate pointing the congregation toward our Mission and Strategy.
- Utilize media and expertise to help tell our story that God is creating among us.
- Work with all departments to align us church-wide to speak in a united “voice”.
- Strategizing communications and creating timelines, protocols, branding, and impact around Mission and L. I. F. E. strategy while honoring our agreed-upon vision and mission. This should include:
- Making sure all promotional and marketing materials meet the church’s brand identity and branding strategy.
- Organizing and directing promotional events.
- Assessing and reporting to your team and the church staff on the effectiveness of your communication strategies.
- Holding the staff accountable to our vision, mission, strategy, and values in events communicated.
- Maintaining weekly updates on different media such as YouTube, streaming, podcasts, SM, promotional advertisements, calendar conductivity, and event registration.
- Strategizing and managing social media calendar.
- Creating social media content, including graphic designs and language that tells the story of FMC.
- Participating in trending social media themes to further the reach of the church.
- Identifying and capturing stories at FMC to share in church and digitally.
- Ensuring website and church app are up-to-date, accurate, and fully functioning.
- Creating strategy to maximize the platforms above.
- Developing a Creative Team to brainstorm and envision ways to communicate with our church family, across different demographics.
- Creating, formatting, and translating, and reproducing Sunday bulletins.
- Attending worship planning each Tuesday to capture input and share communications strategy.
- Eliminate unnecessary communications strategies, etc.
Skills/Desired Experience:
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet project timelines and to manage several varied tasks simultaneously.
- Ability to function with grace and truth amidst many voices, requests, and pace.
- Ability to communicate clearly and to use sound judgment as the “voice” of FMC to our congregation and communities.
- Understand and implement marketing strategies. Be innovative.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, Adobe Creative, Canva, or other similar software.
- Proficiency on copier and workroom equipment.
- Present in office 40 hours a week.
- Communications, graphic design, marketing, public relations, information technology studies and experience a plus.
- Background check required.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $39,000.00 - $49,000.00 per year
