What are the responsibilities and job description for the Warehouse Associate position at First Onsite?
We are a national emergency response restoration and general contractor specializing in the return of compromised property to its pre-loss condition. We work with our clients to restore their properties. Our team restores commercial, multifamily, hospitality, educational properties from water damages, flood, fire, smoke and natural disasters.
The Warehouse Associate's primary role are warehouse duties including loading and unloading trucks, restocking the warehouse and filling orders, general warehouse duties.
Responsibilities:
The Warehouse Associate duties include, but are not limited to:
- Address maintenance issues of restoration equipment
- Ensure warehouse/equipment is maintained on a regular basis
- Be able to accurately identify various types and problems
- Safely operate all the necessary equipment in work area
- To accurately identify and count stock materials as listed on the cycle count list
- Received material coming into the building by vendors, customers, or other warehouses accurately and promptly
- Verifies the quantity and description of materials received by checking merchandise against the packing list
- Prepares a receiving report if none is available
- Examine incoming shipments, reject damaged items. Appropriately report/record any discrepancies
- To accurately place materials on shelves, in racks or other designated storage areas in an orderly manner
- Attaches identifying tag or labels to materials or marks information on cases, bales or other containers
- Assembles and fills orders to be shipped to customers
- Perform other duties as assigned
Technical Qualifications:
- Be able to identify product by size, type, style, and color or product code
- Operate inventory control equipment, i.e., bar-coding, equipment, handheld devices
- Solid reading skills- must be able to read orders/match orders on shipping tickets to items picked
- Basic math skills and reasoning skills
- Certification of power-truck equipment
Behavioral Qualifications:
- Strong communication skills
- Ability to understand and execute instructions
- General understanding of the warehouse and footprint
- Must possess a sense of urgency
Experience:
- 2 years of warehouse and distribution
- High school diploma or GED required
Preferences:
- Mechanical skills a plus
Special Position Requirements:
- Must be willing and able to travel on a moment's notice to support business needs
Work Requirements:
- Must be able to exert physical strength sufficient to lift/carry and push/pull objects weighing up to 75 lbs
- Must be willing to work shift assignments which may include variable shifts with weekends or holidays
